GAME DETAILS / CURRENT FORM

Apologies for the short thread.

Town come into this game sitting 4th in the league and unbeaten in the last 7. We are also into the 4th round of the F.A Cup after beating Port Vale 4-0 at home last week. Our 4th round game away to Rochdale is certainly winnable, meaning that could set up a juicy 5th round game v a big team. I genuinely believe no team would want to face us at home in the cup.

Our current league form has been outstanding lately. The last 6 games have earned us 5 wins and a draw, putting us in 2nd in the overall current form list. Our only blip was a 1-1 draw at home to Blackburn.
Our attacking play hasn't set the world alight in terms of number of goals (30), but we have scored in each of our last 10 games. And with Nakhi Wells scoring in our last 3 games and top scorer Kachunga getting a double 4 games ago, our strikers are looking good. If only we could defend set pieces!!!
I am expecting us to score in this game at least once, even though the Wendies are joint 4th overall in least number of goals conceded in the league (24).

If you weren't already, then another reason to be optimistic about our season is the fact that after this away game v Wendies, we will have played all the teams in the top 6 away (so far W2 L2). We still have all the others in the top 6 to play at home except for Wendies.

Wendies come into this game after a right royal humping in the F.A Cup at Middlesborough. 3-0 the final score.
However their league form has been fairly good. In the last 6 games they have won 3, drawn 2 and only lost 1 away to Reading.
They currently sit in 6th place, 4 points and 2 places behind Town. If you go back to the last 8 games, they have won 5 of them.

They do have a 6 game unbeaten run against the Terriers in recent matches, with Town's last win coming away 2-1 in 2013.

Their talisman striker Fernando Forestieri has just signed a new contract with them to keep him there until 2020.
He's landed on his feet then, which makes a change from landing on his backside and rolling around in most games he plays.
Midfielder, Sam Hutchinson, the winner of 3 player of the months' this season, has also signed an extended contract until 2020.

This is the clubs 16th season since they were last in the top flight.

WENDIES last game

The last game was a 0-0 home draw v Wolves. Most people who watched that game thought that Wolves were the better team and deserved to win.
The line up for Wendies that day was:-

Westwood
Hunt   -   Helmet Hunt has signed a new contract until 2019. He was great going forward for us, but a disaster defending.
Lees   -  ex Dirty L666s....nuff said
Sasso
Reach   -  ex Bradfud winger
McManaman  -   Subbed for Lucas João
Lee   -    Subbed for Wallace  -  Scots international who has played for Celtic, Sunderland, Preston and Burnley.
Hutchinson   -  ex Chelsea gritty midfielder
Bannan   -  ex Celtic, Villa, Dirty L666s, Derby, Blackpool, Palace, and drunk driver who drove alone without ever passing his test.
Fletcher    -   Subbed for Jones   -  ex Hibee Sunderland, Burnley, Wolves Scottish international (28 caps).....
Forestieri   -   No words needed really for Town fans

TOWN TEAM

Herr Wagner seems to be using his rotation policy well. He made a number of changes for Port Vale, and I fully expect him to make more changes for this game.

Nice one, Shep.

Just been reading that Barnsley striker Sam Winnall is expected to sign for the Wendies today. Twitter saying he's there having a medical now.

Do you think we will have issues with towels in this one, or maybe a notegate scandal again?

As for the team, do we know if rajiv is back as that will change how we line up. Can see hefele and schindler being the centre half pairing, maybe hudson and schindler. But I'd say smith, hefele, schindler and lowe are our best backline. Probably see whitehead and mooy infront of them

The note passing must be a Dortmund thing. Liverpool were doing it last night.

I think he'll go with Hudz and Schinz at the back. Will Izzy Wizzy get another start?

The referee by the way, a Mr Scott, last reffed us at Bellend Road last season. We all know how that went.
He's the last ref to have awarded us a penalty.

Nice one Shep, straight to the point. Thumb up We're overdue a win v Wendies, do they park the bus at home like they did at ours and elsewhere away? If they parked it at Boro then they left the doors and windows open.

we actually had more possession than Borro at there place so when we dont park the bus we lose ! although against Preston we never got out of our 15 yard box untill the 94th minute Doh play like we have been and you will take at least two goals and probably win play like we can do and we might just batter some team for 5 goals one day Big Grin

winnall has signed and Houriane is coming but neither will start and knowing our boss nor will they get on the bench either !

I did hear about the rumoured signings for Wednesday while I was finishing the thread, but like Imre says, I doubt they would have been starting for them on Sat.
