As suggested by the title - anything footy-wise, sports-wise (actually ANYTHING but politics & religion - is that ok, stairs?) which gets your eyeballs rolling and exasperated to the core........

...how about starting with the Northampton manager yesterday who was made to apologise for saying his team's performance was "like men against girls"??!! What's wrong with that? I don't see that as insulting - just accurate. AAAAaaaaagghhhh!!! Angry

Ha, I think this could become a well used thread!
Agree with your thoughts on that story, Drewks. Apparently as soon as he said it he 'realised it was totally unacceptable' - is it really? Maybe a bit stupid but everyone has to be so utterly on message these days.

One thing I hate is Political Correctness (am I allowed to hate it!?)
Not so long ago this country (and USA) prided itself on free speech, but the PC bastards have confined it to history.
We'll probably evolve into non-speaking humans, afraid to open our gobs in case we offend someone - and get a lawsuit, keeping Lawyers very wealthy (the bastards!)

Good thread, Drewks.
Start every day off with a smile and get it over with

I can't stand the way they say Happy Holidays here instead of Merry Christmas. I get it that there are multiple faiths with multiple holidays at that time of year but why is anyone offended at me wishing them a Merry Christmas?? That is a greeting that should never cause any offence to anyone and is never said with ny malice, its purely made up PC gone mad offence!!!

I am perfectly OK with the thread and probably will use it as much as anyone (but there are obvious limitations and expectations).

I am always fuming about the PC brigade and the Health & Safety lunacy that exists. We all should be accepting of the fact that the old days were not totally 'The good old days'. We all did things back then which were potentially fatal and madness at the time. Hopefully we all accept a little refinement on safety and what is said is a good thing.

But, give the over sensitive a little license and they go totally mad and err on the extreme.

A personal gripe of mine is being concerned about being a gentleman and opening doors or offer up your seat on the train etc for a woman. It's not sexist or patronising. It's just good old decent manners and I'd do the same for people older than me regardless of gender. But you live in fear on rebuke if you do. Hate it.

Next Peeve then is the Police focus on speeding when people are jumping read lights everywhere I go!

Don't get me wrong, significant speeding is out of order but seriously there will be more accidents due to this trend if not sniffed out!!
