Fair enough Imre, appreciate your opinion. I also have have many years of supporting the owls, but not as long as some on here by a stretch. As for today, I saw it on the box and thought we did really well to limit them, they had only a few chances? Agree we miss chances which will cost us in games, it seems like we don't create enough clear cut chances which is why our stats are so bad for striking (rather than us missing sitters). But we played a better team today and won pretty comfortably. Last season we didn't do much against the top 5 so I will take that for today. We haven't invested like Newcastle so we can't just expect to go to them and steamroller them!!

Just watched it back after recording the game. Great team performance, rarely looked troubled at the back, midfield stuck to their job of breaking up their play and the front 2 were always creating space for an easy out pass from defence or midfield. Some of the movement from Forestieri/Fletcher/Reach and Wallace was great to see when we were going forward. Can't say anyone had a bad game, almost the perfect away performance at the best team in the division!!

Had no tinterweb yesterday (THANKS SKY), but at least watched in 60" ultra high def 4k surroundsound lovliness, yes my wife to be bought me a new telly !!!
Best performance for a long time in my book, as for Bannan & pudil Imre, thought they both had good games, Pudil was left exposed a little but coped very well and Banna did his job today and never gave them a minute on the ball , FF & Fletcher ran themselves ragged and looked every bit as good as Newcastles front 2, the back 5 really never poot a foot wrong, perfect away performance TBH ..Onwards and Upwards..

Newcastle for all they have spent didn't look any better then the Massive and Gayle can score , but what w whinging , diving xxxx he is , and at times the ref did his best for the Barcodes cause, they just didn't take advantage

All in all .. the team and Carlos got this absolutely BANG ON !!

Managed to find a stream and watched it on TV with the old man, he's not tech savvy and can't even get radio sheff out here in Staffs so it was a treat for him.

I must say I thought we were very good, away at St James. We pissed some good chances away, but the men of the match really are Westwood, Hutch and their Keeper Darlow.

Play like that the rest of the seasona nd there's little problem.. we won't though Big Grin

Can't believe we got the win. Brilliant stuff....by all accounts Hutch was outstanding. Hopefully we can kick on from this now and have a promising second half to the season.

IMRES NO BULLSHIT RATINGS

westwood 10 MoM in my book and quite simply the best goalkeeper in the country when on form Thumb up

palmer6 I was going to put him down for a 4 as he still is completely useless going forward his throwing crossing and shooting is shite Thumb down but he defends a hell of alot better than Hunt if thats hard Whistle not good enough we need a Right back of caliber a premiership loan would be the best option here Thumb up

pudil7One of his better games although on another day he might have been sent off and cost us points i think he has a screw loose some of the daft shit he does Doh he did defend better yesterday and he worked quite well with Reach in getting forward still it wont last and i would rather have Reach at Left back Thumb down

lees8solid concentrated no messing around brilliant defending Thumb up

Loovens8solid concentrated no messing around brilliant defending Thumb up hold up a minute Huh

Reach7 great at getting forward and turning players inside out Thumb up crap at the final ball and finishing must do better or become a left back Whistle

Bannan7Most due to the fact of Boxing day winning and blue tinted glasses thought he did well ? id say ok Whistle he almost cost us a goal poncing around near his own box and diame scared the shit out of him far to easy Doh

wallace7worked hard and always puts a shift in he won us a goal with a good corner but his shooting of late is on par with simon stainrod mingled with a twinge of colin west Whistle

Hutch9 did everything you want of a midfielder Thumb up passing like shezza and tackling like Carlton Thumb up

Fletcher7Caused the Newcastle defenders and midfielders problems but his finishing wasnt up to scratch yesterday

Fessi7of form yesterday due to the fact he hasnt played for 3 games and his mrs had him out shopping like a donut Whistle but he still asked questions of the newcastle defence Thumb up watch out themaclad fessis coming to get you Whistle

Joao5 Grow up or xxxx off Thumb up

Nuhui6did his Nuhui thing which doesnt involve goals Whistle

Hope that didnt bring you down to earth to much happy clappers Big Grin it was a great win and its been a great xmas Thumb up santa once again proving he loves us Hohoho

From the articles I've read and postings on other sites it seems like the secret of our success yesterday was following our game plan for the full 96 minutes and it could have been 3 or 4 to 1 but for the respective goalies. We just need to do that sort of complete team performance for the rest of the season.

In spite of past concerns by others I do believe CC does serious homework on all the opposites but unfortunately some of our non MENSA card carrying squad don't always understand the prescribed tactics or the portuenglish instructions send them to sleep before they've got the full message.
Boss, what was I supposed to do when we get the ball into the penalty area with only the goalie there???

Just seen we're signing the ex-Wigan lad on loan from WBA so Buckley must be out long term and/or DC is really going for it as Att's and ours (especially MS) Christmas present.

One game at time and all that but its never over until the fat lady sings in May.
