SG has been nattering to the press ahead of the Charlton game:

The Westwood injury is a concern of course, hope our medical leave him alone

SG is talking shite again I see . GTF is a proven goal scorere with over a 100 goals. How long did it take him to record that figure FFS !!!! As for Madine I was under the impression he was statrting to play well and then we get rid of him to a lower league !!!! How is he going to get use to this league if he is playing a division below while Nuihu is given forever to adapt . A proven goal scorer in this league is Maynard who hasn't really had a look in at Cardiff !!! I would have prefered Blackstock from the trees to come here over GTF. GTF will have to score 3 hatricks during his stay here for me to even think it was a good idea signing him . As Stateside said a panic signing, "get someone in...anyone in FFS !!" What about those other two Corry and McCabe, f....all said about them or even them moving on. They can sit on there arse there and make a decent living .  Sounds as if SG is pinning his hopes on Drenthe for the creative spark. Much like what we did when Antonio was here. We can have more that two creatice players in the team SG FFS !!!!

To be fair, we need more pace in the team particularly up front and Drenthe offers that. The problem I see is how that pace is used, we need to use it to get to the byline to swing in crosses or use it to create space on the break, but all too often its used to make a run, stop, cut inside and shoot from 25 yards!!! Pace is essential, but using it right is just as important, and that instruction needs to come from SG!!

Agreed SCO we do need more pace. Drenthe on his own won't do anything, like as with Antonio he will be double marked and can do no damage. There needs to be someone else with him i.e an attacking midielder, to create the distraction for the likes of May or Drenthe or Maguire. Currently we don't have any out there. The opposition knows Maguire will shoot from far out. Our attacking play is to easy to defend against because it is predictable in a 442 formation.

I am not sure the formation matters, we are just predictable!!! Both "wingers" will cut back in and either cross or shoot, either way the defence can get back and defend that easily, May will come deeper and deeper as the game goes on to try to pick up the ball, but again thats easy enough to counter, and the midfield duo will sit and protect the back four!! We can play 442 and use the wingers to get round the back, either with help from the FB or using pace, that will pull the whole team a further 20 yards up the pitch, but when the come back onto their other foot, we tend to drop back 20 yards!!! When was the last time we had someone break an offside trap or run onto a through ball or whipped in cross?? I have seen a few games this season and we hardly ever get into these situations!!

It makes me laugh this 442 bollocks. Everyone screams when we play it saying stuart is one dimensional and we never score playing it, he changes it at the weekend to 4312, we get a draw v Norwich, and people start to moan because Norwich had too many chances.
We had chances and were wasteful at the weekend. Had SM put the header in or GTF hit it first time we'd have won because no one was beating Westwood (the defence as a whole for that matter) at the weekend.

If people are suggesting 451 then you better get used to Stevie May not playing/playing in midfield.

What I'd do is play Buxton, move Palmer into midfield with Lee & Semedo and play Maguire behind strikers, May & Nuhiu up front

There was only one team who wanted to win the game on satdi, and that was Norwich. Mays header was a half chance.
Dielna and Helan should have swapped positions. Helan to LB and Dielna to midfield where he has played. If he is to persist with 4312, the fullbacks need to provide the width, which they didnt v Norwich. And Maghoma should replace McGuire just behind the front two.
