Well we've lost two on the bounce now so speculation as to how we're going to stop the rot has begun.
And first off the blocks is defender Joe Gomez of Liverpool. Of course as we all the know, our manager is a good friend of the Liverpool manager, so where else would Jurgen Klopp send a young player who's been out for a year with a cruciate injury but to his best buddy at Huddersfield Town?

More sloppy journalism by the sound of it. Wagner pooh poohed the suggestion when asked about it at his press conference today.

Any other murmurs? We need another striker but I'm not 100% convinced he has to be a big man, think he needs to be more industrial and/or dynamic. Someone who is better at linking play up. I like mccleary at reading but we wont be able to get him.
Will we spend big, take a punt or rely on loans? If we went down the loans route some prem players who arent getting much of a look in for one reason or another are the likes of rhodes and afobe. Then theres the arsenal striker hull had on loan, chubba akpom, i can only guess he's injured or in Europe because he's dissappeared.
For the punts theres the obvious European path or someone like akinde at barnet who has had 3 or 4 good years in the lower leagues scoring goals galore. Not sure what other lower league players might be worth a punt to be fair

A prolific goalscorer is the missing link here. If we could get Jordan Rhodes on loan for the back end of the season he would bag a boat load with the opportunities we create.

I think we have a man to lead the line, unfortunately due to injuries to others and that he does a better job than Bunn and Scannell at the moment we put him out wide....Kachunga.

Well it won't be Danny Ings who got injured again just after tying up his bootlaces. I don't get it with Boro and Rhodes but if they let him out on loan I'd expect a bigger spender than us to be paying a big chunk of his wages. If there's still nobody in the Academy that can come through then we'll probably give some of the big clubs kids a once over - again.

how about a little change in formation? stick with the back 5 from saturday but change to a midfield three of hogg, mooy and either paurevic or billing, then have a fluid forward three of kachunga, palmer and one of rajiv/wells/bunn/lolley/scanz/payne
think palmer could play up top or equally in the midfield but i would chance him up top and allow him to drop deeper and drag a centre half out of position

If we could strike a deal with Boro over his wages, I'd be moving the moon & stars to be getting Rhodes back in Jan. Simple as. If it's feasible, do it.

DATM has gone full DATM with people genuinely discussing whether Jermaine Defoe is a viable target in Jan. Struth, give me strength. As much as I'd love JR back, I think one of Sheff Wed, Villa, Derby etc will offer him the big wages and pay £10m
