Couldn't see him ending up anywhere else other than a bottom half Championship side so that's a great deal for him. And when we do sell him to a L1/Bottom Champ team we'll at least get enough to pay Fletchers wages Laugh Thumb up

I guess he's getting some games and if Hunt gets injured we definitely need him or we have to move Lee to RB. It seems to me there is intent to maintain player 'harmony' in the dressing room with these extended deals. Will need some ruthlessness next summer though.

Young Fraser Preston has turned Pro with us having made his way through the academy.

A promising winger whom we will never see on the first team Whistle

Surely we have to get some young players through sooner or later. We are a bit overdue in that department, I'd say!

I think its a good signing. Its very noticeable that we are keeping players signed on contracts which means we can at least get some money if we sell them or they can stay part of the squad. Palmer is good enough to at least be the back up RB and at the moment is probably the first choice.

We only got our Academy upgraded after MM took over the Club so those first batch of players are only just reaching the age of signing their first contracts now. It will probably be another three years before we see if these players are good enough to be first team regulars.

In the past, players never kicked on after they hit the first team squad. Beevers, Wood & Spurr never improved after hitting the first team squad. There are signs already that Palmer is doing better and has stepped it up a level this season, which is a good reflection on the improving quality of our coaching.
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
