Just as I feared

Yup that just about sums up this non event of a match played in near monsoon conditions.

Mansfield still without a league win this season were forced to "park the Bus" for the first 15 minutes or so as the Robins made all the running in an attempt to get an early lead. Some good sweeping moves cut through the Stags players although their "back 3" held firm. Both sides were employing a 3-5-2 system which only served to cancel each other out.
The Robins were clearly missing the injured George Lloyd as his replacement Alfie May looked more than a little of the pace.
Strange isn't it. Last season Lloyd couldn't get near the first team because of Alfie's form. Now the boot is very firmly on the other foot.

After the first 15 minutes, the tide turned and Mansfield came more into the game but neither side could get a decent shot on target until late in the second half when May had two good chances to settle the match.. He missed both and the game limped to a tame 0-0 draw.

Two difficult games up next.
In mid week away to Port Vale and next Saturday at home to our main rivals Forest Green. Sick
Given previous history against those two clubs I can't see us getting many points to enhance our promotion push.
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.
