The man who should have got the job last year shows the dour faced numpty how its done. Play the players in their natural positions, ditch the nepotism and bring back the best midfielder (Wedgbury) from Sheridans scrap heap and hey presto you have a win.

Ok maybe not that simple but we actually wanted that one. We played as a team, we saw the game out and we looked fairly comfortable. The one negative was the crowd (well 2 if I include the ref but am getting used to totally biased refereeing in this division). 3400 odd I think they announced which was a big disappointment for me and probably our new owners. Those who went got behind the team and it was a great game to watch. For the record Sutton were no slouches but we were just better.

Just heard Pembertons interview on Radio Sheffield. Cant do a link thing but have a listen if you get the chance. He's the man for me.
Buzzing tonight. First game in over 3 months and boy does the beer taste good. Even Fondops sending off cant take the edge off it.
2 weeks off now, it will give him the time he needs to up the fitness levels and find the workers and the shirkers.

The future looks bright the future is Pemburton.

What do you reckon Dancing? Give Pemberton the job till the end of the season?

Thanks for the report, Dancing. Like you, I haven`t been along to the Proact for a few months now; partly because of dismay at the performances and partly due to other things going on in my life which, although nowhere near as traumatic as with Dev, have been something of a distraction. That`s probably going to be the case for the rest of the season but there`s a good chance at the moment that the missus and I may be moving back to Derbyshire in a few months` time, so maybe next season.......

From what you say, it does sound like a promising start for Pembers but to be fair we`ve been here before, haven`t we. JS made a promising start, as did MA before him. It could be the traditional ‘new manager bounce` that will peter out in a few weeks or it really could be a sign of better things to come; right now, I`d rather reserve judgement and see what happens.

The big problem for me in sacking JS and his crew is that it means even more ex-management and staff whose contracts are having to be paid off – we`re still paying MA and his back-up staff as well until the end of the season, I presume – which will make our financial position even worse than it is already. This is only a gut-feeling and is based on no personal knowledge whatsoever, but I suspect that the club`s problems are more endemic and `cultural` (whatever that means) and that things won`t fundamentally change until the change of ownership goes through.

That being the case I really don`t know the answer to your question, Matt, but I`d be interested to know what you think, Dancing.

Pemberton turned the ship around last season then Sheridan came in and reaped the rewards. Had Sheridan followed on from Allen we would probably have gone down last season.
With Sheridan all is rosy when things are going well but when things turn sour he just cant handle it. IMO he is nothing more than an arogant bastard. His taunting of the fans in last weeks interview with his "I'm going nowhere I'm a good manager"compared to the following tweet from Pemberton

I would just like to say thank you @ChesterfieldFC supporters for your brilliant backing today and your kind message it’s a small step towards a massive challenge and we need you all thank you???

To me that speaks volumes. He will make a first class manager and I hope he gets it on a full time basis. He can bring the club together.
Best of all he picked and played Sharman. A small step for mankind but a huge leap for youth at CFC. Long may it continue.

Fondop's got a 3 match ban for getting himself sent off after the whistle, while Eastmond who got sent off as well for Sutton has got a 4 match ban.
