Well we are back - a new season is upon us, thank god!

The team will have gone through changes and I expect mallan,vega and Scott Allan to make up the core of our midfield today with Flo probably leading the line on his own.

Nice day, good crowd and 3 points hopefully.

FT and a 1-0 Hibs win after Hibs free-flowing footie stifled by a well drilled Saints' defence. I think the "turning point" after HT was Hecky's move to bring on Doidge and favour 3 up front. The "miss of the match" was definitely Doidge's gaffe from about 2 yards off Saints' goal line after Kamberi set him up for a "tap in". Job done and Hibs start positively with a Scotty Allan winning goal at the start of this new league season.

1st half was a bit ropey in all honesty, 2nd half much improved and when we hit our stride when the manager changed it we looked decent.

Yes we could have had more goals, but in all honesty st Mirren could have scored 2 or 3 themselves. Improvement is going to be needed when we go to the Craig Whyte Dome.

Forgot to mention the poor refereeing and that "offside goal"(???) by Kamberi that was never offside and we are already witnessing more of the poor ref officiation that was debated last season. This issue followed on from an observed disgraceful ref performance on Friday night at East End Park by a rotten ref called Aitken who has had years of criticism "thrown in his direction" and yet he is still a practising ref in the Scot Championship. If I was managing the SFA ref operation I'd be discreetly asking such a referee to explain why he arrived at such poor decisions and then take a reasoned decision to either demote this ref or demand improvement or else!! His crap decisions effectively robbed DAFC of a deserved winning start to the league season. Not good enough esp with VAR not being available in any form and makes a mockery of the sport up here!!
