nthony Stokes has joined Iranian side Tractor Sazi in a shock move.

The former Celtic striker has signed a two-year deal with the club located in the city of Tabriz.

Stokes had been clubless since leaving Greek outfit Apollon Smyrni and was linked with a move to Shamrock Rovers, but has opted for a move to the Middle East instead.

He follows in the footsteps of Irish footballer Eamon Zayed, who played for Iranian side Aluminium Hormozgan in 2013.

I believe his previous club, Apollon, rightly 'ditched him' after he went AWOL and didn't wanna play for the Greek club any more! That is one helluvah gamble by Tractor Sazi!

He had a chance with Celtic and blew it, had a chance with Hibs and blew it,had a chance with Apollino fugged it up good style and will probably do the same again. Waste of space.
