Refreshing to see us drawing 1-1 away at Spurs and looking more likely to score in injury time than them. Thank God Pulis has gone.

Always gutting to throw away two points after leading, but I'm sure we'd all have taken 1-1 before kick-off. We really have to build on this with at least one win from the coming two, though.

Well, I for one would have settled for a point at kick-off.
I thought that in spite of the possession percentage, we were much more positive, passed and retained the ball better than when Pulis was bawling from the touchline. That said, we never seem to get the run of the ball but I suppose you make your own luck. Nice to see Saddo Beradrugo didn't even make the bench for Sjoke at Palace today. Dream move did he call it ?

Don’t think we played this anydifferent tactically than pulis would have and interesting to read comments by Harry redknapp about TP sacking. Although not surprised he was sacked he said it leaves wba looking for a manager that has to do what TP does best and that’s avoid relegation now he also Believed TP would have turned it around? We will never know of course but it looks like whoever we do choose the candidates out there are hardly inspiring. The other danger is with that point away to a really good spurs side they may just give the job to GM and as much as I like the bloke for getting us out the championship all those years ago I don’t think he will keep us in the prem just as he couldn’t some 14/15 years ago. Credit for what he’s achieved today though that was a daunting fixture and we’ve done ourselves proud so maybe rolling our sleeves up was what we needed today and was what GM promised he’d do

Can't grumble with that solid point to stop the rot. It was a similar performance to what would have been expected with Tony Pulis in charge but we were much better with the ball and actually looked to pass it around rather than just kick and rush.
I hope we get the new guy in and ready to take charge of the Newcastle game but if not then Gary Megson for one more match won't be the worst thing.

My first away fixture this year. Confidently expecting that however many all-conquering Spurs were going to score our scoreline was most assuredly going to be "nil", imagine my surprise when Rondon scores with an oh-so-slow-motion poke past Lloris with our first attack when I was taking my seat.
Thought we defended with great resolve against a Spurs side who did look a little hungover after their great midweek win at Dortmund. Everyone looked keen to put in a shift after the Pulis era. I felt the players with a London connection, Livermore, Phillips and Gibbs all played like they had something to prove. Foster riled the home crowd like never before and I was amazed it took until the 80th minute to get a booking. OK if you are a Baggie fan, but infuriating otherwise. This result should serve to show we have enough to pull us out of the mess. We have 6 matches to half way and some very winnable games if we can replicate this form.

Great result........but Foster's ridiculous time wasting - even in the first fekin half - embarrasses me hugely. It sets a tone, and a statement that we are NEGATIVE.
PLEASE - whoever takes over - change this terrible mentality / attitude that we are now cursed with
Personally thought Rondon was immense today. Held the ball up well, won crucial free kicks and ran his F****n socks off. Just a shame he missed that last chance at the end. He looked like the striker everyone thought we'd signed.... And looked like he does when he plays for Venezuela.
J-Rod however seemed to just jog around a bit and his movement was poor. Understandably he had to put in a bit more of a defensive shift, but seemed really ineffectual in attack, which was a shame... |
