UP FOR SALE - is that news?
#21
As I read it the asking price was always 10mil for the sale but the extra 5mil was to go into the club funds to cover the shortfall created by the losses.
The so called consortium didn't actually make any firm bid, they showed intent with a offer of £10mill based on a series of stage payments and further payments when they raised more income with increased sponsorship deals, eventually paying £10 mill but over an unspecified length of time. All this is stated in the post that started the ball rolling. There is no way Allen would accept that kind of bid - nor would I, he wants to walk with no losses and a clean break. The fact that the so called consortium then just walked and supposedly some of them invested in something else begs the question were they serious or just chancers.
All the woes seem to be down to Allen and him alone with poor leadership/management skills and a very arrogant attitude. Nevertheless we cant argue that he doesn't deserve to walk away without losing money as he gave us a ground and promise. The fact he couldn't delivery and insists on employing numpties around him to take all the flack has been his downfall.

Bobs board posters think they are so superior and know everything. They don't seem capable of actually reading what somebody posts. Everything veres off at a tangent making big assumptions and the story then rolls and rolls eventually morphing into something that bears no resemblance to fact.

I don't know what Mr Allen deserves or what he is really like.

He has provided a lovely ground, some high hopes and some real disappointments.

The lovely ground may in itself be an albatross rather than a selling point. The debt it created has filled our pockets with stones and dangled us off the end of a pier.

Everything that has happened so far is simply the exercise of power. The fact that Allen's puppet Turner is still in a position to influence events and report back suggests to me selling his interest is not at the top of Mr Allen's agenda and our relegation in May is therefore largely irrelevant to him.

Apparently a cohort of Kazakh tribesmen is interested in pooling their resources and selling their vast herds of wild horses and buying into an English football club they hope to rename the Chesterfield Hunting Eagles.

Makes you wonder would Bobs Board put off any potential investors.

I hate to think that the Bobs board has any influence whatsoever but I guess some good has come out of all the negativity that is spouted on there,id say they probably get one in ten allegations right. The last two i read were the 'Stockholm offer' and the 'Sam Hird wont play again because it triggers a contract extension' thread .Neither to be fair has been proven one way or the other but Hird is playing and Carson has made a statement on the Stockholm thing.
