3G Pitches being ripped up in the Netherlands due to health fears!!

This is an interesting story because the Dutch football authorities previously installed lotsa 3G pitches throughout the country and now there's a total change in attitude re these pitches being used. It looks like the 'ban' will eventually 'sweep the country' and I wonder whether it will spread to the UK as well!! We can only wait n see how it develops but it's clear that the KNVB have 'taken the bull by the horns' and doing something about it. I personally never liked these pitches anyway and was always fed up with family members and boyfriends occasionally traipsing into my house and bringing in these black pellets on their trainers to drop on the carpets/flooring!! Horrible artificial pitches!!

I think they are fine for training on but shouldn't be used for competitive games.

Had an artificial pitch at Deepdale for seven years shocking surface, plastic football on plastic pitches, sorry grass is the only surface to play the game on full stop.

Why should a man go to work, if he has the health and strength to stay in bed?

Yep! I totally agree and previously commented that teams up here that play on these awful pitches definitely have a 'familiarity advantage' with this kinda surface - shouldn't be allowed and the English FA certainly currently concur with that view.
