Match Thread - Huddersfield v SWFC
IMRES NO BULLSHIT RATINGS

WESTWOOD 8 Nothing to do but when he did get called upon he did his job well , his kicking was excellent and back to its best today Thumb up

PALMER 3 Not good enough for Sheffield Wednesday anymore he gets chance after chance due to the fact Hunt is equally as pub league and he never steps up his attacking throwins in the first half where terrible his positioning was equal to that and when he got a simple chance infront of goal at the end he fluffed that up aswell Doh we have to buy a RB quickly when the transfer window opens and ship him and Hunt out to the pub leagues Thumb down

HUTCHINSON 8 got stuck in and played the correct balls with jones to get us out of trouble . i stated this was the way to go before the game and it was spot on Smartass

LEES 7 Calm as you like less to do than Hutch Very solid nothing fancy Thumb up

PUDIL 7 Best game all season but after past performances it wasnt hard Doh Hes finally realised hes got competition and id be tempted to bring in Urby at least for a few minutes in the next two games to make him step up even more Thumb up

JONES 8 Didnt touch the ball for the first 30 minutes you wouldnt have known he was playing Doh but after that he grew and grew and played sensible balls with Hutch and lees and calmed the Hudderfield attacks right down Thumb up

BANNAN 5 Tired maybe from two international games ? definatly out off posistion which leads me to think is he needed when we play without the ball Huh But who should we play there ? Abdi is a big NO in this position aswell !! so it has to be Wallace doesnt it Thumb up

LEE 8 Up and down like a whores knickers again he gets everywhere like dogshit does this lad brilliant Thumb up Thumb up

REACH 7 Lively performance again helped the midfield out 100 fold and it wont be long before his first goal comes Thumb up

HOOPER 7 Did a great job softening the Village defence up leaving Fessi with the space he likes to get in round the back question is do we bring in Fletcher against Colin city as im sure we wont play any different ! or do we leave it as it is Thumb up

FESSI 9 MOM The love affair with the Village continues Laugh so unlucky when he wripped to two centerbacks and Goalie new hole to hit the post , ithought here we go lady bloody luck again Doh then he got another chance after the Village idiot thought he was picked in goal Laugh Laugh Laugh agian i mentioned earlier on this week that mistakes or a mistake would lose the game and i was spot on again Smartass as it did and Fessi stepped up and took a lovely sweet penalty sending the keeper who had allready dived on the floor the wrong way Thumb up Fessi playing in a strikers position has to be the blueprint for the rest of the season now and stop playing him outwide ffs Doh

NUHUI 7 Shades of Zico crossed between Maradona and a Jirrafe on crack cocaine steps to mind Laugh seriously though he did his job picked the ribs of the village defence and passed every ball he got to feet Thumb up

WALLACE 7 Much better than Bannan but then that wasnt hard was it Whistle gave the inept Palmer a breather and got stuck in well Thumb up

LOOVENS No rating he just come on to join the party Thumb up

CC 9 Picked the best team and tactic possible with what he has and outfoxed Wagner although fair play to Wagner because he doesnt have much ammunition to play Thumb up

Summary .... Huddersfield huffed and puffed and didnt ever look like they would score a bit like weve played every game ive seen this season at home Doh we where clynical today without the ball possesion has bit us on the bottom too many times this season its refreshing that CC is learning from this and we are at last moving up Thumb up Huddersfield will be moving down now they have been sussed out on live TV and Grayson who was watching will be rubbing his hands after watching how easy they where to break to pieces Whistle if they had better players they would be a prospect for the playoffs but with what theyve got i think it will be a bridge to far although they have come on very well with Wagner and they can forget playing only to stay up as long as hes the manager Thumb up We on the other hand need a Rightback ASAP and a right sided midfielder also on todays showing Whistle

Just one more comment and it goes like this Whistle Star trek is feffing wank shuve your patrick stewart up youre arse Thumb up

Ok, Ok guys I get it, shouldn't be drawn into it ..I KNOW, but try to give the small clubs some encouragement and this is how it pans out, fair enough, I won't do it again then .. sorry SCO, I just hope then that that tiny village get back to the level they deserve, from now on I will try to encourage the better teams , with the classier fans in this division to reach OUR high standards, the teams that may one day get to the promised land of the PL ... and though it REALLY pains me to say it , a club like LEEDS will get there before the paupers of udders !!

At least when Palmer gets the ball or takes a throw in the defence know they need to get back in position pronto Wink

Professional Performance - Top Six By November?

The team was as expected except for Fletcher, who was absent due to personal circumstances.

We set up basically as a 4132 with Jones shielding the back four but pretty flexible in front of him. Huddersfield used the flanks to attack us and Palmer was often left exposed as Bannan went missing. Pudil also suffered early on but gradually Reach gave him more support.

Huddersfield dominated possession but Wednesday always looked more dangerous. Jones hit the bar with a cross come shot in an early flurry. Fessi hit the post when through one on one on the keeper with a cheeky chip and it looked like a goal was inevitable. Wallace replaced Bannan and the goal came when Lees' shot was blocked by a defenders arm and Fessi put the penalty away adroitly.

After that, we defended comfortably and always looked the more likely side to score on the break with Palmer, Lee & Wallace all finding good opportunities but 1-0 was enough.

Westwood - 7
Palmer - 7
Lees - 8
Hutchinson - 8
Pudil - 7
Jones - 8

Reach - 7

Stats are interesting & useful but should only be used in conjunction with what you see with your own eyes. If you use them in isolation then they can be dangerous. Based upon passing accuracy, Loovens is our best passer and we know that isn't true but he is brilliant at passing it five yards.

Imre, I didn't pay much attention but I thought Hutch said something as he walked away, just didn't catch what it was he said!! He's right though, its old news and a crap question, better questions could have easily been asked about the game the viewers had just seen.

Fair play to Wednesday, they came and did a very good job on us. You wouldn't let us play the ball out from the back and when you lost possesion you had 2 banks of 4 straight back into position and basically said 'try and break us down' which we never really did.
I didn't think either team were that good although how you didn't go one up at the start of the second half when he dinked it over the keeper I'll never know, I was right behind that and it looked a goal all the way. Penalty, no complaints other that the ref seemed to play on and then change his mind but from what I've seen it was a pen.
Still, were only a point off the top n the middle of October and if that had been offered at the start of the season I'd have snapped your hand off.
Best of luck for the remainder of the season...well until the return game at your gaff anyway

Yeah I saw Hutch snap, didn't quite catch all of what he said though just his body language.
