Lennon baffled by Hibs slump?

I think you are right 0762, however we do seem to do better when he plays. I wish he would play him with Hanlon in the centre and then give Crane a game at left back............pigs will fly lol

hmmm. I think McGregor is the best of our cb's. For me hanlon has got a lot better since he arrived.

Probably right Jim......just we seem to do better when Fontaine plays, especially in the early games this season.   Huh Some of our better balanced looking sides have had three at the back with McGregor, Hanlon and Fontaine Huh .

Very true, newhaven, but they depend on Gray and Stevenson (now Crane?) giving them cover. However I am still of the opinion that our major problem stems from lack of goals rather than giving too many away. The absence of Henderson and (gulp) Stokes for this season is the thing that has hurt us the most. We should still be doing far better than we are, though.

Clutching at straws a wee bit guys if you think Chris Commons is the answer to get you promotion. Cracking player on his day but he ain't playing at a decent level at the moment. Surely Lennon has had the chance to build a team to get out of the championship and not looking at the January window to improve?. Initial thoughts were Hibs would skoosh this league- it's not happening at the moment. Will the fans get fed up and start drifting away again?. Crowds have been good following the cup win but could well start to drop a bit if league results do not improve soon. Chris Commons will not win you the league- a decent manager getting the best out of his players will!

Commons is a quality player coming back from injury and doing his coaching badges. I think he'd be a good fit for us and he knows where the goal is. Don't think its clutching at straws to think he'd improve us..a lot.

I totally agree! He's apparently a good buddy of Neil Lennon from his Celtic days and he can certainly score goals from any angle and any distance within reason. He's not quite the same style of player as Stokesy and I regard Commons as having a good element of guile about his play as well. The 'trick' is convincing him of the challenge to play matches for Hibs and playing a big part in a successful end to our season. Hibs would be an ideal club for him to join at this stage of his career. It would be a massive coup if Lenny pulled in Hendo as well!

Commons is a better footballer than stokes. I think he has one good season left in him if he fancies it,I can see Lennon asking the question in January when his contract just becomes 'dead money' to Celtic.
