We can't progress, that's true, but I did not expect anything else. We have been playing 16, 17 and 18 year olds against grown men who play regular league football. It is great experience for our academy players but the opposition experience was always likely to prevail. The kids appear to have done pretty well, two two nil defeats away from home against first team players. Not to downhearted.

Not strictly true 4eva our team that played Luton was;

Myhill, Fitzwater ©, Olsson, Donnellan, McCourt, Sweeney, Gardner, Harper, Smith, Tulloch, McManaman.

and we had Morrison on the bench.

Though most of the team was U23 Wink

I am not sure you should get too carried away by your "youngsters",  Luton made 11 changes from their last league game and fielded a team with 8 players under the age of 21.  Their manager Nathan Jones has stated that he will personally pay the fine the team may get for not abiding by the rules of fielding a required number of first team players.

I know you're an Owl, Charlie, but your down-putting comments smacked of ever-jealous Wolves fans (Dingles).

Wasn't trying to have a go but was responding to what 4evaabaggie said - "but I did not expect anything else. We have been playing 16, 17 and 18 year olds against grown men who play regular league football." - when in fact Luton played their youngsters and none of their first team!! Maybe its a good job it was me as a non-West Midlander who pointed that out as I have no allegiance or axe to grind with any club in that region!

St Charles, that's fine I take no offence, I did not see either line up on Tuesday or any of the game as I was at a friend's retirement party, I assumed that we played our kids and Luton would've played more of a first team like the game against millwall, I could be wrong there as well. Did not wish to cause a row.nice to see you on here and to chat, I should roam more.
