We still got a few hammerings under Powell. We still can't defend free kicks/corners/set pieces under Wagner. Another goal scorer given attack seems to be our best form of defence under Wagner would seem to be a priority. If we find one we'll be in a queue with 71 other teams for his services in the loan window. We put a defender on to take the draw yesterday and we know how well that worked. You score two we'll score three might be our saviour. At the moment you score 2 we score 1 will send us down.

Think our defence will always be our achilles heel. We will sign players and they will improve that aspect but defenders dont like being run at and when teams do that our problem will return.
add to that no matter how much we spend or who we sign there will always be a fan out there that thinks that someone is rubbish. Seen on twitter yesterday fans not being happy with wagners comments etc and its 'fans' like that who will bring out the pitchforks whenever we lose claiming someone isnt doing something be it a player, wagner, hoyle or the guy sat in the ticket office.
It sometimes makes things difficult as you just hear or read someone complaining and it almost feels like the season cant finish soon enough just to get away from people like that.

If we had the best manager, whoever he is, and the best players, whoever they are, and were 10 points clear at the top of the division, yeh OK in my dreams, those ham shankers would be moaning about some player in the squad or the manager. They never propose alternatives tho' and disappear from threads when challenged to do so. We are Town, we have a small budget, we will f*** up. It's just annoying when we do it against teams that are no better than we are.

I was at the game on Saturday....first one in a long time.
We were by far the better team...should have been 4 up before they even scored one. Not blaming Wells, their goalie played a blinder and was man of the match.
However Phillip Billings was by far and away the best player on the pitch before he got injured.
Yes we do need another striker to push Wells.....and some semblance of an organised defence. Other than that the signs are starting to look good. Keep playing like that for rest of season and we will win a lot more than we lose.

I hope you'll excuse a rather belated postscript to what seems to have been a sound performance but the wrong result. I visited the Examiner site and noticed that we hadn't won at Deepdale since 1969. I was at that game and it was memorable for two reasons personally. First of all I saw that we had a team that really could go all the way. Secondly I was a student and hitched down from Lancaster. It was wet and windy and I absent mindedly went past the blue prohibited traffic sign to shelter behind it. Passing cop car stopped and gleefully gave a 'bloody student' a ticket. £5 fine resulted - but after the result and a few short hours in the company of the Cowshed Rambling Club I didn't give two hoots! UTT.
