There were definitely some load mouths behind me in the South Stand who criticised Joao whenever he didn't get something right and could only say "he's got to do more" when he did something good. It's pretty annoying that people call themselves Wednesday supporters but will only back certain members of the team and are openly hostile to others. In my mind that's not support, it sounds more like big-headed ego massaging!
I also thought Hutchinson and the centre halves were excellent but Hunt worries me at full back. I'm not sure he understands what jockeying the winger is all about. Having said that I would never boo him because he plays for Wednesday, he just makes me nervous every time the play is near him in our half.

I was in the North Stand so it is going on on both sides. We get certain fans that think one player is bigger than the team & will support them at the expense of the team.
Hunt is a worry because he seems to have no defensive qualities which puts everyone else under pressure.
Hutchinson is outstanding most matches. If he could just avoid the cards.
I never boo any players. Supporters support & supporting does not include booing.

Yesterday was really the first time I have seen Joao in an extended appearance and a couple of things struck me. I didn't think he held the ball up as well as I have seen Nuhiu do it in previous games, but when he was able to control the initial ball, he was so much better at doing something with it. I understand that sometimes the strikers controls the ball and plays it back to the midfielder, but it was great to see Joao control it, and try to turn his defender or at least run with the ball before passing. That really makes the defense think and stops them committing too much to the original ball.
Secondly, he is raw, but he has a turn of pace and a confidence to use it that we haven't seen for a while. Personally I would prefer to play him every week and help him develop with real situations. I would also prefer to see him replaced by maybe Bus rather than Nuhiu, something slightly different rather than a poor mans version of Joao!!!

There is little value bringing on Nuhiu as a sub because it needs someone with the ability to take advantage of tiring players. If Joao is to start, Bus could be a better option to come on later.

Whenever I've seen/heard Joao from the start he has always been good to excellent from the off before gradually fading out of the game and finally disappearing after 60 minutes. This is not a criticism, just an observation and I don't know what the answer is. If he could play for 90 minutes to the same standard he starts then he would already be a £5m plus player.

OK. I get it, MS. But, they are idiots because a young guy like Jaoa (sp?) needs fan support and in the end it will be a combination of effort plus talent that will get us promoted. As you say, Nuhiu has the former, but not the latter.
Maybe too it's the fact that despite it all, Nuhiu comes across during interviews as a nice guy, someone you wouldn't mind having a beer with. I remember when Brian Law's last piece of rope had almost run out some fans were saying he shouldn't be fired because he's a nice guy and what about his family?
Takes all kinds. But booing of any Wednesday player, Nuhiu included, shouldn't be condoned.

Maybe that is true. He sets off well but fades. Unfortunately that rarely gets goals early on but he can take advantage of tiring defences when he comes on early in the second half.
