Having said that, I'm not sure how that wasn't a penalty for your guys in the first half

Looks like it possibly was, but not to worry it happens

Missed the Preston game but watched last night and thought it was a real dour affair.

Away from home, we just look a really poor side (yet again).

We're really lacking in creativity. We move the ball forward far too slowly. Nobody picking up the space between the midfield and attack.

The only player who looks like he's interested in attacking and scoring goals is Mikey Johnston. Unfortunately, he's all too often isolated against 2 or 3 defenders because our midfield backup is 20 yards behind.

Everyone else far too happy to tip tap around. First instinct to go backwards and safe.

I think what we're really missing is someone in the middle of the park who can drive forward with the ball and open up some space. Someone who has the first thought of going forward and backing up the wingers.

Mowatt is neat, but he doesn't have the speed to turn and drive on. As for Diakite, I'm not sure what he offers at all. He just seems to be a body on the pitch who doesn't excel in any area. Hasn't got even half of the defensive awareness of a Yokuslu or Yacob, doesn't have the athleticism to be aggressive in the press and turnover the ball like a Mulumbu and offers absolutely nothing going forward.

As a result, we're tip tapping around between the centre halves and Mowatt but don't have anyone to break the lines and move forward.

Issac Price's goal was a beauty of a strike. But I still don't see him as a 10. He's been playing in this role for a while now and I've still not seen him pick a penetrative pass or show any flair or creation. Maybe he should the player in the 8, arriving in the box from a deeper position and posing a goal threat that we've not had from the centre midfield for some time. Either way, as a 10, he's really not creating anything.

I've seen a few people saying Price will be sold etc. Personally I think he will have to show a bit more than a good shot to command the big money. As a result, I'm not particularly fearful.

Also seen a few people slagging Heggebo. To be fair, he was poor last night. But what is a target man meant to do when nobody is feeding him to feet and playing off him. For me it doesn't really matter if it's Maja or Heggebo up top, unless we sort out our lack of creativity and ability to play higher up the pitch, any striker will struggle.
