Start comparable to last season, let’s hope Ryan’s express can gather speed, a few more faces in before Monday and our young squad may be there or thereabouts come May.

Well done lads, proud of you.

A great start.... BUT let's not set our expectations too high.....
Don't get me wrong - I'd love to see us keeping this up, but IMHO a mid table position in such a transitional season would be a success in itself...

Drewks, expectations never too high, Albion fan for fifty + years, hopes raised and dashed more times than I care to remember, but this time hope is growing

.... also, as said before, as this great start continues, we're becoming a much more attractive option for any players linked with us in these last few days of the transfer circus Tongue Cool

Overall, it was the most pleasing performance of the season to date.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't the most exciting game from a footballing point of view. But it was really positive to see us keep a clean sheet away at Stoke, especially when you consider it was a brand new defence.

Still plenty of room for improvement, but thought there were lots of positives too...

I was worried about who would start at right back, but Campbell looked good there. Early days, but he looks like a steal for what we have paid. Passes well, heads the ball and gets his body in the way. Even looked good going forwards.

I was not expecting Mepham starting so soon after arriving at the club. But fair play to him, he was fit and ready. Excellent call by Mason to throw him in.

However, it was Phillips who really stole the show at the back. The lad got his head on absolutely everything and topped it off with a goal. I wasn't convinced when we signed him, but he's winning me over with his performances so far.

Going forward, I thought Mikey was good. Price showed some good touches but should've done better with his chance. Heggebo looked a handful again.

In terms of areas for improvement, I'd like to see us move the ball forward with a bit more pace and purpose.

We do need to replace Fellows because brining Wallace back into the team isn't the answer. He was largely anonymous today.

And I'm still not convinced by Griffiths and Styles. Styles made a few elementary mistakes today that on other days, could've cost us goals. To his credit, Griffiths was solid today, but I'd still like a steady experienced head between the sticks.

Interesting couple of days to come before the window closes...

I'd like us to sign a goalkeeper, left back and a creative midfielder or two.

I'm assuming Grant could be on his way out as he wasn't in the squad today (maybe just my wishful thinking)...

If so, that would free up 2 positions for creative midfielders / wingers. If we are able to get the right quality in, we might actually do okay this season.
