Yes we need another slow old centre back ..... not? Can't we have a younger defender?

To be honest I didn't know anything about that Dancing. I haven't used X (formerly known as Twitter) in nearly a year and I don't read Bob's Board much because it comes across as depressing. You could win 5 or 6-0 and someone on Bob's Board would try and find a negative or something to complain about.

A pre-contract agreement has been reached to sign Malik Owolabi-Belewu from Canadian team Forge FC upon the expiry of his contract on January 1.
Looks like we've signed a very good player.

Can`t wait to hear Tooley trying to het his chops around that one!
Apparently he`s 23, English (born in London) and his team are top of the Canadian Premier League at the moment. In July he was voted CPL player of the month. As you say, he could turn out to be a good `un.

That`s a strange one that I certainly didn`t see coming. I had noticed that his name wasn`t appearing on the teamsheet much for Wycombe towards the end of last season and assumed he must have been injured. Perhaps he just doesn`t fit in there; it happens sometimes. Anyway I`m not complaining and perhaps it explains why Colclough was allowed to go if this deal was already in the pipeline.
The strength and depth of the squad is starting to look a bit tasty now. It puts a bit of pressure on Cookie though. If we don`t go up with this squad he`s really got nowhere to hide. No excuses.

I agree we've got a lot of depth and quality in midfield and also in attack but we need to shore up in defence.
Bookmakers have got us down as 2nd favourites. MK Dons as the favourites to win the league. With the squad we've got we should be aiming for Top 3.

I agree. With the squad we`ve got, anything less than automatic promotion this season would constitute failure, to my thinking. No pressure, guys.
It`s interesting that the odds on Oddschecker between MK Dons and us are getting closer. A few weeks ago, they were at about 4/1 to win the league and we were 9/1 or so. Now they are at 7/2 and we are 11/2. For a top3 finish they are 5/6 and we are 6/5. Not much in it. For me, it`s about being able to open up teams who come to our place and play the low block, which most of them did last year, and to create more chances. We struggled with that last season. |
