Prediction League Week 16 Results
#1
Well this will be the last week before the New Year, so on behalf of Zinman and myself we would like to thank everyone who has taken part in this league and we wish each and every one of you a Happy New Year and prosperous 2023!!

Premier League

Blue Baggie 20pts 2CS 5CR 5GB 6BB 1SB
Zinman 19pts 2CS 5CR 5GB 3BB 1SB
Derby 15pts 1CS 4CR 5GB 3BB 1SB
Minizin 12pts 1CS 2CR 5GB 6BB 1SB
Stairs 5pts 1CS 2CR 0GB 3BB 0SB
Sanjay 4pts 1CS 2CR -3GB 3BB 0SB
Snooty 2pts 1CS 2CR -3GB -3BB 2SB
SCO 1pt 0CS 1CR -3GB 3BB 1SB

A distinct "table of 2 halves'" this week. 3 games failed to supply a single correct prediction but, for once, both Albion and Sheffield Wednesday came through to provide a bumper points harvest.

Blue Baggie struggled at the start of the season but has improved over recent weeks and this form continued with his best return of the year to head this week's table. 5 correct results of which 2 were spot-on scores including his bonus - could he finally be off the foot of the table? Zinman once again comes in second with his 6th consecutive double figure return helped by his 4th consecutive positive gamball - it's almost as if he's selecting the fixtures himself! It was a decent week for all of the top 3 with Derby and Minizin scoring well - Minizin only got 2 correct results but luckily for him these were his gamball and bonus to save him from what could have been a bad week.

There's then a bit of a gap to the rest. Stairs, Sanjay and Snooty all matched Minizin's record of 1 correct score plus 1 other correct result but weren't as fortunate with their balls. Stairs correct score was one of his 2 bonuses - he lost points on the other - and SCO managed to get 2 points from his scoreballs.

SCO's struggles continued. He has now scored just 26 points from the last 7 weeks and he was only saved from a negative return by Wednesday scrambling a win on what was his bonus ball - the only result he got right.

Zinman 153
Derby 143
Minizin 142
Snooty 125
Sanjay 110
Stairs 109
Blue 94
SCO 93

The top 3 extended their lead over the rest after a good week. Zinman retains top spot with Derby edging back up above Minizin into 2nd place. The only other positional change this week is a significant one with Blue Baggie finally climbing off the foot of the table to be replaced by SCO. I have a feeling this week's results may be posted rather later than usual!

Championship

AAA 20pts 3CS 1CR 5GB 6BB 1SB
Twerton 16pts 1CS 4CR 5GB NPBB 1SB
Amelia 14pts 1CS 2CR 5GB 6BB 1SB
Dingle 9pts 0CS 4CR 5GB -3BB 1SB
BBB 8pts 0CS 4CR 5GB -3BB 0SB
Themaclad 6pts 1CS 1CR -3GB 6BB 1SB
Lady Jane -1pts 0CS 2CR -3GB -3BB 1SB
BaggieOne -1pts 0CS 2CR -3GB -3BB 1SB

This week we see a weekly result table that is upside down compared to the season table!! Leading the way is AAA with 20 points, he only scored points on 4 games but got a CS on the Bonus and picked up points on the Gamball as well!! Close behind is Twerton on 16 points, he too scored points on the Gamball but has had his knuckles severely rapped for failing to use the Bonus Ball!! Amelia rounds out the top 3 with 14 points, another spot on Bonus and more points on the Gamball boosted her score nicely!

Our league leader Dingle is 4th with 9 points and I fancy with the three above him this week all being in the bottom three in the table he will be happy with this. BBB is 5th with 8 points and Themaclad is 6th, BBB got the CR Gamball and Themaclad got a CS Bonus.

The bottom 2 this week, Lady Jane and BaggieOne, both ended with a negative score. Both got the Gamball and the Bonus wrong and as we have seen many times before there is no coming back from that and with Dingle sitting above them they will both lose ground on him!!

179 Dingle
155 Lady Jane
142 BaggieOne
124 BBB
123 AAA
107 Themaclad
104 Amelia
82 Twerton

No positional changes this week. Dingle did stretch his lead to 24 points over Lady Jane with BaggieOne a further 13 points back. BBB and AAA are now separated by just a single point, can either one of them put a run together to close the gap on the top 3? Themaclad now has Amelia right behind him but there is then a 22 point gap to Twerton.

Just a few stats to finish the year off. The highest weekly score this season belongs to AAA with 26 points and the lowest to Twerton with -6, unfortunately for him this won't change as this is the lowest score possible!! Dingle has the most Scoreball points with 14, Lady Jane is the Gamball Queen with 26 points and also leads the BB points with 18!! Unfortunately for Twerton, he has the lowest points haul on both the Gamball and Bonus with a combined -40 points!!

Finally, we will start the FA Cup competition in the New Year so keep an eye out for that.

Cheers

I am in a precarious position. Very much emulating a typical. West Brom season in the Premier League.

Can I amass enough points to survive or maybe become the Yo-Yo player for the next few seasons.

Happy New Year from Inverness. We flew up to enjoy a Hogmanay but currently very disappointing, as no bloody snow!!!!

We’ve got legacy snow here (30 mins north of Inverness) and some more forecast today. We get it when Inverness doesn’t as they’re close to the coast. If you drive down to the ski centre at Aviemore you’ll get all the snow you can cope with.

No snow over here! Though it has been absolutely pi##ing down for days with more to come. And we’re apparently experiencing a drought.

That’s called the Pineapple Express when you get wave after wave of rain in NCAL, I remember that from when we lived there. It’s been freezing here in Chicago. Ut not too much snow so far.

In Worcester after a bitterly cold snap (-10 on a night 2 in the day) in mid December it's warmed up now. The rain has now taken a hold.

Driving anywhere today would be a mistake as thoroughly enjoyed seeing the new year in Sick
