Kabongo Tshimanga has joined Birmingham City. Good luck to him, I hope he does well. I think we may see him in the Premier League soon.

Bit premature Matt. According to radio this morning he failed the medical.

Certainly nothing on the club site or the DT, although I did hear yesterday that it was almost a done deal and about to happen. i presume there`s some doubt about whether his injury is fully healed yet, in which case it`s really just postponing the inevitable. Still, it means we have him a bit longer and the fact that we are prepared to let him go now suggests that Asante`s injury isn`t too bad.

It fell through.
Just edited the thread title.
It sounds like there is more to this than what is being said.

The rumor is that a fee was agreed, he went to Brum and they were not happy with something at the medical and tried to re negotiate. The trust weren't happy and wouldn't budge.
Sounds like Birmingham trying to pull a fast one.

If that`s true, then well done the Trust. Hopefully he now starts rattling in the goals again, which will push his value up a bit higher, and if the Brum still want him in January it will cost them a bit more. it will serve the buggers right.

I see Danny Webb has made some comment about the stories doing the rounds on social media and the various theories as to why the move fell through. That`s the problem when the club stays so tight-lipped on the subject; it creates a vacuum that gets filled by a load of weird and wonderful ideas. I heard some of them at the match yesterday; they didn`t go quite as far as saying Birmingham got a message from Elvis on Mars telling them to pull out of the deal, but a few were definitely heading in that direction.
I think it would help a great deal if the club were to make some sort of official statement on the matter.

You are so right SGB. Silence only creates a vacuum for others to fill.
I think Tshimanga could succeed in the Championship, but Birmingham City hardly strike me as an aspiring goal-scoring club. They still appear to think they can haul themselves up by clutching at straws.
The next few months will be vital for Kabby. He has to keep proving his ability to grab the goals that will take him away from us. Equally we need to keep improving our squad on the cheap to ensure that if we are in the running we don't collapse upon losing him. My suggestions - Bailey Hobson from Alfreton and Kane Drummond from Warrington Rylands. And maybe we need to get something out of Gyasi ....
