For the last few weeks I've not come away from a match (whether there or not) and had any conversation with anyone about referees and their decision making.

Then we get the bloke that Lisa Simpson wouldn't want to be related to. At times he tried to let play go, but what this clown has to see before he stops the game when there's a player obviously unconscious in the middle of the pitch, fortunately face down not up beggars belief. That he then booked Toffolo for dissent for yelling at him to stop the game compounds this man's lack of a football brain. You really wouldn't want him reffing the Sunday League U11's, let alone a Championship match.

He was right for the sending off. Jordan Gabriel missed the ball, went straight through O'Brien and might have broke his leg had O'Brien not jumped. Daft thing is he didn't need to make that challenge. If the game wasn't already coming back to us, that put Critchley in full on defensive mode, and we know too well how that usually works out when we do it. Careless on the other hand went, by his normal subs, to all out attack.

Watch the replay on the above posts from Snoots or the Sky website.

Otherwise it was a good Christmas War of the Roses, end to end stuff occasionally making up for skill and 5 well taken goals if I'm honest, even if we gifted Blackpool the ball for the first. I'm still trying to work out how Sorba the Taff hit that winner through all those legs.

Another good performance at Forest and Blackburn please Town.

In the end it was a good 3 points but the whole game changed on two things.
1) The sending off
2) putting attacking players on the pitch late in the game.

Can’t argue with a second yellow for the sending off, yes he made the most of it but it was a late tackle that usually ends up with a yellow card and as it was his second.

Attacking subs changed the game, up until then we huffed and puffed but got nowhere really.
Let’s be a little braver at Forest and play more expansive football
