Link to Careless presser now in the OP.

Blackburn have announced their U23 Team, seem a bit sluggish at announcing the one that will play us

Ah - same side that played Barnsley - they still think they are playing Barnsley too Doh

Referee booed off at half time by the Blackburn fans. Laugh

Claiming handball in the last minute there. Wouldn't even have been hand ball in last season's silly interpretation of the law. Lewis was about a foot away when the Blackburn lad headed it onto his arm.

Sounds like Blackburn have been the more dangerous but we are the only ones with an attempt on target, with Duane Holmes being unlucky to see the goalkeeper block his header.

As for the Pearson on Diaz penalty claim. Never in a million years.

Good point Town. Thumb up

Chelsea lol.

Send Colwill out on loan and put Trev Chalobah in at centre back. Lol.

Hope they're not thinking of recalling him. Blush

We've played 'em before

Blackburn have their noses in front in and there's nearly always a bagful of goals.

I put the kibosh on that one Big Grin

We could do without a repeat of last season's shellacking though.

Seems I got that one right (more or less) Whistle

Just watched the highlights on the Sky Sports App. I was elsewhere having Sunday lunch, as almost normal when I don't go to a Town match.

They hit the bar (not on target), they kicked a 30+yd free kick straight at Nichols, if that was a shot on target then the other one didn't make the highlights.

As for Mr. Melton Mowbray telling Pork Pies and moaning about the ref and the decision on Diaz - the first contact if there was any was outside the box, so no penalty and the second was a shoulder charge that he threw himself on the floor for. Ref was able to see both clearly. Mr. Pork Pie says the first contact was a penalty and he'd seen the replays. Suggest he goes to Specsavers and not moan about the ref if that's true because clearly our first player wasn't in the box. Afterwards, according to the Beeb website, he wishes his top scorer isn't going to be around anymore next week. What????? Hell they are 2nd and seem to believe they have the divine right to just turn up and win now.

Doubtful that the 10 minute version is worth watching.

You do see their 2nd attempt on target on this one, but not the first Laugh

Wow! Mowbray! Whingeing tosser!

In no way were either of those penalty claims penalties. We had a better claim that we didn't even claim for. That was late on in the game when Lewis was pulled back in the box. Not a penalty but equal in not being a penalty to theirs. But our players don't whine and surround the referee. Maybe we should do to get some more decisions off the weaker refs. This ref did a good job in my opinion. And you won't hear that from me very often.  Whistle

As for their claim of a red card for Holmes. He was pushed in the back which made it look worse than it was. But again, the Chicken Pluckers are surrounding the ref, which they have no right to do so. Hopefully they will get fined for such behaviour, but I won't hold my breath.  Angry

To be honest if those penalty shouts were the other way around i reckon we'd be screaming blue murder, they've got a good case for both.

As for the match. Could've done with a football of our own in the first 20minutes as it was all Blackburn. After 20mins a much more even game played in poor conditions. Sinani a passenger for most of the game but yet created the best chance of the game for Town.
Holmes lucky to stay on after his lunge in the second half which was reckless to say the least and stupid at best, then again he should have sent the Blackburn lad off in the last minute for a second yellow card but he chose to leave his cards in his pocket on both occasions.

A hard fought point which takes us one closer to the magical 50 point mark

There are 6 clubs below us who can theoretically catch or overtake us if they win their games in hand. As someone said on another thread or comment on here (that I can't find) we wouldn't be too far behind if they did. A quick look at those clubs and the postponed games they have to play/rearrange ...

Everyone of the 6 clubs that can catch or go above us has to play at least one of the others. The Blunts and Coventry have to play two of them. So they aren't all going to do it if no other games are played while they all play catch up. Realistically that won't happen. Coventry only need 2 wins from 3 to catch up with our current points total. Points on the board beat games in hand here.

We've also got Stoke, Preston and The Blunts to play in 3 of our next 5 matches so keeping at least 3 of them below us is in our hands.
