I just wondered if anybody noticed we lost last night at somewhere called Barrow, had a player sent off, got another badly injured, played a goalkeeper who was worried throughout about an injury and have only a complete dud to cover, played without our centre forward who is also apparently injured ...........

........... whereas Salford did as even I suggested and slotted in Nathan Pond, became sounder and as a possible consequence got two goals and three points out of Rooney?

Just wondered, amidst the inevitable worries over whether Salford can get any of our fans inside their ground to witness our problems on-field, whether anyone is contemplating what kind of rag-taggle side we'll be able to put out, and whether MA will be able to weld a functioning team back together.

Clearly being down at least one forward coinciding with a Tyler Walker (who we could have signed) hat trick for Mansfield against Accrington is a twist of fate Mr Allen could have done without.

Our squad looks TOO small to me, what do you think? And where would you strengthen? We still can!

Some people even suggested Ian Evatt would make a good manager. Can you imagine.

I couldn't understand why Evo didn't do something a bit different with our failing team. He seemed to think tinkering a bit would cure the problem. But at Barrow, partly enforced by "major" players wanting to leave, he has embraced change. Whether by the end of the season they'll even by halfway I still have my doubts, but that sort of thing is pretty impossible to predict.

I do think that by ditching him so quickly MA might have done Evo a big favour.
