John Flanagan?

Signed by Rangers and this is a guy that has been convicted for a criminal assault on his girl friend. Rangers already issuing a 'defensive statement' to somehow justify his signing to the point of condemning his behaviour! IMO players are role models and this offence is also fairly recent. However, by signing him that does not tie in with the statement - no fitting consequent action and an element of hypocrisy very evident in this action - almost as bad as the David Goodwillie case TBH and why is it that footie seems to practise in this way? Also I'll bet Liverpool very happy to be rid of a huge PR problem from their point of view and tying in with reasonably high moral values eh! It just would not happen in many other occupations. The victim forgotten again and all in the name of 'the beautiful game'! Deja vu.

Peter Shilton, Paul Merson, Paul Gascoigne, Lee Hughes, Tony Adams, Marlon King, John Terry are just a few of the many names who have been involved in scandals that have brought their clubs into disrepute
I wholeheartedly agree that Flanagan in this case should have been sent on an education program and a community service engagement (Women`s football coach in a local prison perhaps!)

Their careers are short, role models for so many yet so stupid in their actions

Aye! And lotsa kids and women in the Ibronx stands observing this non role model! Again the ability to kick a football supersedes the morality of this kinda issue and it's not just a Rangers 'thing' either!

Flanagan didn't 'make a mistake' he beat a woman. He's a horrible little scrote.

In a footballing sense he has barely played in 2 years,if he can get back to his form at liverpool he will be a good signing though but the jury is very much out.

Watching the huns training camp in spain. Players on an early easy jet flight, gerrard using alternate travel arrangements. Snide hummel kit with the badge on the wrong side,2nd rate facilities.

What a shambles of a tribute act. King is running them into the ground.

Aye! I think that will eventually be the bigger story that will not be 'hidden' forever!
