I only saw him on Golazzo: The Football Italia Story on Saturday evening and he looked like he was in good health. That was filmed about a month ago and now he is no longer with us. It’s very sad.

Best wishes to his family in this difficult time. RIP Ray Wilkins.

Tragic. A very decent player and a very proud Englishman. 84 caps, always gave his all. Apparently a true gent.

RIP BUTCH

Currently playing in Italy is the Milan Derby between AC Milan and Inter Milan. Before the match Franco Baresi, an AC Milan legend and former teammate of Ray Wilkins laid flowers in front of the Curva Sud and held up a Milan shirt with Wilkins 8 on the back. The AC Milan also displayed a banner.

If you go to Nigel Quashie's Instagram page there is a wonderful tribute to Wilkins, well worth a read
Why should a man go to work, if he has the health and strength to stay in bed?

RIP Ray "Butch" Wilkins - MU & England captain and a Rolls Royce of a player.
Never looked rushed when on the ball, simply a class above.

Ray Wilkins was both a decent player and one of the better pundits (though its not that hard to be better than the rubbish we have offered up as pundits, when they are not spitting at little girls). Sad that just a few weeks ago Ray went down in my estimation for calling Chris Brunt out, for having a go at Pardew. One of his quotes was "Chris, for me, has been bang out of order. Try and sort your own life out first because it’s pretty evident that the senior players at West Brom aren’t performing." Brunt is the one player who has been giving his all. For me, Brunt was totally correct in what he said and if anyone, it was the person who let the information out of the dressing room is the one who should be hung, drawn and quartered, not Brunt for saying what any of us would have said, given the opportunity.

So respect to Ray for the majority of his life in football, but sadly the Brunt comments are now what will probably now remain in my memory. That said R.I.P. Ray Wilkins and my condolences to your family and friends.
