It looks very promising and I would be happy with mid-table but think we are good enough for playoffs at least. I don't think we'll get relegated.

The play-offs for us would be the ultimate bonus - Themaclad at Preston probably rightly looks on them as a potential nightmare.
By the way I've noticed Rob Page is temporarily in charge at Port Vale. Did he look like a manager or a bullet-headed centre back to you?
By the way what's the connection between Sligo and Accrington? Cookie and Coleman go back and forth. Will Beattie take over at Sligo for a bit?

Rob Page was a fantastic centre back and before he signed for Chesterfield he came to a few games and sat next to me in the Compton Street at a few matches and he was very knowledgeable so I think he could be a good manager if Port Vale decide to give him the job.
I think Beattie resigned at Accrington to be nearer to his family. I'm very surprised that Coleman decided to leave Sligo after only joining them in June.

I always used to think centre backs were likely to make the best managers, because they have the time to weigh up and read the game. Pellegrino, Wenger and Allardyce kind of make the argument, but Fergie, Shankly and Clough make it rubbish. Anyway I hope Page does well, because we expected a lot from him and we were probably one step too many in a long career journey. I'm sure he wanted to do more for us.
If Beattie had wanted there are lots of nice places to bring up a family within an easy commute of Accrington. I'm guessing saving them last season was the peak of his abilities with their resources - and he knew it.
There has to be a Sligo/Accrington agent or backer. Cook and Coleman is too much of a coincidence.

The other coincidence is Cook and Coleman have both managed Southport and they both played for Marine.

Dev, Busby Cloughie and Shankley were the tops because they were excellent man managers and motivators not because of where they played. Rob Page was past it by the time he came to us and to put it bluntly was wank. Good luck to him at Port Vale somehow think he is going to need it. By the way Dev, still in Spain 31 degrees today and the Estrelle tasting sweet.

No wonder we hate you Dancing - you work on it so nicely .........
I think Ferguson managed his teams from centre forward, his old position. That's how he made Ronaldo great. He was happy showboating out on the wing until Fergie pointed him towards goal. Cloughie and Shankly were personality forces of nature ..... but Allardyce manages from centre back, Sheridan from midfield. Mourinho manages from inside his head.
Spirematt - I don't believe in coincidences of that magnitude. There's a link in there - a Scouse network or something.

There probably is a link between the two clubs or perhaps there is a third party who has a link between the two clubs.
What did Ferguson say forwards win games but defenders wins you titles.
Allardyce's style of football is park the bus. Sheridans style was all about midfield thats why we had so many midfielders. I think we have a lot of midfielders under Cook maybe thats because Cook was a midfielder as well.
I believe you need a balance between defence and attack. I think a solid defence is like foundations to a house and we need to focus on our defence at the minute because we've let in 6 goals in 2 games which is a little worrying. I think Cooper should have stayed with us because he's not getting played at Leeds which is a shame, I hate it when clubs buy our best players and don't play them and leave them sat on a bench or in the reserves.
