Hibs v Ayr Utd, Sat 17 Sept, KO 3.00pm
#21
Ayr had barely been in our half until the sending off. Laugh

Im more concerned why lennon didn't alter the shape of the side after the sending off and try and see the game out cos we were clearly having an off day in front of goal. Our shooting and crossing wasn't quite good enough.

0762 is right dylan should have been on.

You do wonder how fit Dylan is despite being on the bench. Huh

Yep newhavenhibby! I'm thinking exactly the same way as you. He was a sub but was he ever gonna be used by Lennon? The biggest laugh for me is the fact that the defensive mid player who we didn't need yesterday is prob required in the next match! Rolleyes

Aye 0762, there has to be a doubt there as when Bartley got a red NL probably should have withdrawn a striker / attacking midfielder and put DM on to sit in front of the back four. At their second goal we were definately a man short tracking back and their scorer was compleytely unchallenged on the penalty spot.

Said earlier this was a banana skin and so it proved never really got going in our stride maybe if Holts header had went in from the first minute and the one that comes back off the post things would have been different they where in our box twice and scored twice dust ourselfs down and kick some ass next week c'mon the hibs

As mentioned in another thread - we've observed matches like this one last season and indeed, we've previously witnessed a similar scenario in our league cup tie v the Doonhamers - a match that I described at the time as a 'bounce game' that was all too easy v second rate opponents, a feeder footie club for HFC, and yet we embarrassingly lost that game - IMO unforgiveable carelessness on the part of certain Hibs players! The main reason for these losses was the fact we were not converting enough of the scoring chances that were being created and we most certainly cannot depend only on Jason's goals being enough to win the Championship!! It was also noticeable that we had not lost a goal in our last four fixtures preceding this shock result v Ayr Utd and I certainly agree with hibeejim re Lennon not reorganising our defence to ensure there were no mishaps against this poor level of opposition. IMO there is no crisis yet (there's a long winter season ahead!) and we're gonna win a lot more matches than we are ever gonna lose and we will not be reduced to ten players in many matches during this season but must handle that situation a tad better than we observed yesterday. However, I fear we've now given an early opportunity to an immediate challenger to wound us on their home artificial pitch. I pray that does not happen, particularly after such a good start to the season and the amount of work that has been put in to establish a decent squad of Hibs players that will see us through the season without too many mishaps compared with last season's league disappointment.

I'm pretty sure HFC will appeal against the red card 0762 which will make the Bartman available for the qos game

I hope Hibs do appeal that red card hfcbounce! It strikes me that there is a 'divided opinion' re the Bartley incident and that clash of opinion centres on where certain fans are seated and the angle of view of that incident. I'm more philosophical re that awful refereeing display now that 'the dust has settled' after this unfair result. IMO this referee is gonna 'damage' other Championship teams in the season ahead if that's his usual shit level of ref activity on a footie pitch and the SFA don't eventually 'reel him in' for reffing too many shit games!

I'm still not 100% sure about the tackle I said no but my lad said red straight away the thing about the guy who got tackled no 16 if I'm right had about 5 or 6 dodgy tackles during the game I'm with 0762 the ref was crap

I forgot to add that I hope this ref 'damages' QOS, Raith, Dundee Utd and Falkirk as well during this season- any of the teams that could potentially mount some kinda challenge on Hibs charge for the Championship title although I'm beginning to wonder if DU have already 'shot their bolt' after that duff result at the Falkirk Stadium and the subsequent vociferous fans' protests against the DU manager!
