Stubbsy focused more on being ready for promotion rather than second place?

In today's EEN, Stubbsy emphasising the fact that promotion is his priority target no matter if Hibs end up in second or third place. I suspect he's playing 'mind games' as much as Falkirk's manager, Peter Houston, because the fact of the matter is that second place in the Championship reduces our number of committed matches at the 'tail end' of our season and that reduction could be crucial in giving us a reasonable chance of battling through the play-off matches with hopefully a full quota of first team squad players to choose from. IMO this will be even more important if we somehow battle our way through to another Scottish Cup final appearance as well.

We should be hungry for promotion no matter how it comes - 2nd, 3rd or 4th. If we don't finish 2nd, it makes no difference to the ultimate goal. We do what we have to do to gain promotion, that is, win our play-offs whether it's 6 games or 4 games.

Yep ritchie but I still think we should take any advantage that can be gained and is within our team's capabilities! Agreed a positive mindset and commitment are imperative in concluding our season 'on a high'.

Kilmarnock will be too strong for Hibs over 2games.

That's an opinion that we'll eventually see is either proved or disproved when it's 'third time lucky' for hopefully a streetwise Hibs team by the time the play off period finally arrives.

Hibs have had 2 seasons to become streetwise, a few more games wont help that.

That's just your usual slanted negative opinion re Hibs FC. What happened Cooper? Were you badly beaten up by Hibs casuals when you were a wee boy or is it just the green shirt that you have some 'beef' about?  We'll see how it all unfolds when the time comes and, by the way, it may not be Killie in the final play-off matches although they look like the likely Premiership casualty. It certainly makes it an interesting season until season end! All for the sake of entertainment. Only it's no fun being the end casualty of this SPFL play-off exercise as you discovered last season.

I'm sure Hibs were the first casualties of the play off system no? 2 seasons on the spin.  I honestly believe Hibs don't have the bottle for the big occaision, just my opinion of course. But it will be fun to watch you sweat.
