Relegation?

Hi all,

Whilst we have playing, at times, good (sometimes great) football under Wagner, is anyone else increasingly worried that we may still get relegated? Here is a list of our remaining fixtures:

Leeds (A)

Sheff Wed (H)

Middlesbrough (A)

Hull (H)

Blackburn (A)

Rotherham (A)

Birmingham (H)

Bristol City (A)

Brentford (H)

I think we can perhaps write off the next 4 fixtures (sorry, but I cant see us getting anything at Leeds) and by this point, we could well be even closer, if not actually in the relegation zone. Rotherham's fixtures don't look too bad, so I can see them getting out of trouble. Which leaves either us, MK Dons, Bristol City and Fulham taken the last place.

I think Fulham are decent enough and Bristol City are picking up points. Are we really going to go toe-toe with MK Dons for the last place? Our last 5 games are all potentially winnable, but all against teams in and around us who will also be after the points!

Mentally, I'm sure that it is always more difficult sliding into a relegation fight from relative safety, as opposed to being in for a while and fighting to get out. Do we have the fighting spirit do get ourselves clear? Yesterday showed that we are capable of going out with a bit of whimper!

For the all the hype around the good football, has the bubble now burst? Have teams now sussed us out and the lack of adaptability to our system/tactics? We are playing in the English Championship and not Bundesliga 2, and is this system going to get out us of trouble?

I am worrying over nothing though? Town do have quality on their day, but they don't have too many days!

Simple Poll guys, are we staying up or not?!

Cheers

We were too good to go down in 2001, but we did.
We are far too good to go down this time, but until we are mathematically safe, there's still that nagging doubt.

Wash your keyboard out with soap and water. For balance post the remaining games of those around us. Don't think I'd want many of their fixtures either.

Team we lost to yesterday are top for a reason. If we'd lost to Rotherham by that score yesterday I might agree with your comment about going out with a whimper but not when we lose to the best team in this division.

Not bothered about Charlton or Bolton, I think they just have too big a mountain to climb to catch us. Rotherham however can catch us, Warnock has given them momentum and they have a few 'cup finals' coming up that they could quite easily win

Leeds
Bristol
MK Dons
Town
Forest

Agree we are too good to go down. There are some poor teams around us....Fulham, MK Dons, Reading, Brizzle City, Rotherham, Blackburn.
We have the quality to stay up.

Bolton and the Ginger Whinger have parted company. They might now pick up a couple more points and finish second bottom.

I take yesterday's win as a bonus, because I really couldn't see us beating them!

Just as well though, as bloody Rotherham go and win at Ipswich! Now they are out of the relegation zone!

Still a little way to go yet before we are clear and safe.

Bottom two getting isolated. This could turn into another of those seasons like when we needed that point in the last game against Barnsley and PishPosh went down with 56points. I don't think 50 points will be safe.
I can see possibly Brentford coming here on the last day needing a win. Not so long back, they were in a play off shout.

the league is crazy tight right now , we are as close to 22 points wise as we are to 10th our next 3 games will be very tricky and we could easily lose all 3 after that though there are games we could easily be winning with some possible 6 pointers against Bristol, Rotherham and Brentford

many of the teams below us also have to play each other with MK dons playing Fulham, Rotherham and Brenford before the end of the season , those 3 games could very well decide their fate
Fulham also have Dons, Brentford and Bolton ( although bolton are already down really)

Rotherham also have bristol and dons, will hull on the last day who might need 3 points for promotion place

its all a big mess but with all the possibilities with so many relegation rivals playing each other if we can beat the teams below us right now we'll be safe
