Last time out we lost 2-1 at home. A late goal from Bojan in injury time gave us a little consolation. Their first goal came from a penalty scored by Ollie Norwood in first half injury time, the second from Odin Bailey in the 78th minute (his only league goal this season). They'd been down to 10 men since the 53rd minute when Tyler Onyango had been sent off after receiving a second yellow.. It never seems to be an advantage for us when we're playing against 10.  Huh
The "highlights"
~~~
Having come up as League Two champions in 2024, the Hatters had a good run in League One last season, finishing 3rd. They're following that up this year, too; still in the top 6.
~~~
They've been playing at Edgeley Park since 1902.
~~~
Sky dictates we're kicking off early. Still, not far to go for this one so shouldn't be too much of an inconvenience to anyone but the lunchtime drinkers.
No preview from Dave Challinor yet but there is some team news; 4th highest goal scorer Nathan Lowe has been recalled by Stoke.
In comes Josh Stokes on loan from Bristol City ; an attacking midfielder.
The current squad includes familiar names Ollie Norwood and that little runt Jack Hunt.
Stockport is home to Strawberry Studios which sadly closed in the 90s. I don't think the building is used for anything exciting now but The Smiths did record there. This song may reflect the mood of some of you, though. Enjoy.  Wink
Nice one, Amelia. Thumb up
I think this game will be very much at risk of postponement. The weather forecast isn't good, minus two overnight and they don't have undersoil heating.
Nice bit about Strawberry Studios though. I didn't know that.
No Leo on Saturday by looks of it. Seems like he is being sold to Middlesbrough
Weather forecast looks a bit better. Gone up a couple of degrees from the other day's forecast.
After a week of snow that became ice with more snow on top, (a week of this in Wolvo is almost unheard of) just before it all thawed out we got the heaviest dump of snow I can recall down here in 30+ years last night. My once proud humungous rosemary bush couldn't take the strain and has collapsed in a heap. The loppers are going to be busy in the next few weeks as the damson tree also needs reigning back a it too. The severial inches (in old money) of snow is rapidly thawing, turning the whole area into a treacherous slush puppy with deep hidden puddles under the snow waiting for the unwary.
Rain now forecast for the rest of the evening but overnight temperatures down to -4° means it's likely going to be more Torvill and Dean than Eddie the Eagle down here in the morning.
Good luck to anyone going over or under The Pennines tomorrow. It actually looks like it will be a degree or two warmer oop Noooerth tomorrow than down here. Whether or not they've got their pitch covered is another matter. If they've one of them big balloons you can blow warm air into it should be OK, otherwise tarps alone won't stop the pitch from freezing, if it's not already frozen.
Stockport fans on X are confident the game will go ahead. They've got a dome over the pitch and they've only had one postponement in the last five years.
