RIP ..... Percy Freeman passed away today. He signed for us from Stourbridge in 68 as Apprentice and understudy to the King, due to Sir Jeff's brilliance he did not get much of a look in and left on a free to Lincoln. After a short spell at Reading he returned to Lincoln.

A little before my time, but still a baggie, my heartfelt condolences go to his family and friends.

Anyone of the older Baggies older than this old baggie know anymore about Percy?.

Just read the imps article further, his full name was Ronald Peter Freeman. If that helps.

I remember him, Eva. Big lad, but I only saw him once when he stood in for Jeff.
John Lennon's "Give Peace a Chance" was at no.1, and the Brummie Road sang:

"All we are saying....
Is give Perc a chance".

Cheers talksaft, my stepfather introduced me to footballl and The Albion in the early 70's so I missed out on Percy but any player to play for us deserve our support and sympathies in times of loss.

I remember Percy Freeman. He can't have been very old?
Just checked the BBC article - he was 70. Made three appearances for Albion in 1969/70.

Although I was an avid attendee at the time of the King, I can't remember 'Percy' at all. Must have blinded by Jeff's brilliance. That said, RIP Percy.
