Very good result and a real tonic for players - and supporters. Notice Billing came on too.

What a win - I've never doubted Powell for a minute and lets hope we learn to take our first half form into the second half and if we can, then someone is going to take a mullering.

It's the first time since the season started that I can go to bed with a smile on my face - lets hope that when I get there I can also put one on the wife's. Tongue

Fat Chance of that happening because she'll be fast asleep Sleeping or pretending to be. Sick

got to say totally amazed, they all worked their socks of and a thoroughly deserved win (possibly through tinted glasses)
crainie excellent at right back, whitehead proper leader , miller absolutely out on his feet but kept going the whole 90 mins,
billing lot of potential needs to slow down a bit but whitehead kept really encouraging him and he defo has loads to give
never really in trouble , silly foul for their goal but 9 times out of ten would not be given
all in all nice 50 minute drive home to the pub !

First of all, hats off to all the town fans who had travelled down from huddersfield for this. I'm lucky living in East london that I hopped on the tube and got there in 45 minutes but we must have had 250 hardcores. Now the match, defensively we looked a WORLD above our usual tripe with Ward and Crainie in there. Crainie isn't a right-back but looked much more solid and read the game far better than Smith. Ward, outstanding, sign this lad up. Looked far better than Lynch who looked shaky once again at times. Davidson v good once again and Steer looked very assured. Will be more than able back-up to Murphy. Great to see us actually playing positive, attacking formation and football with Scannell and Carayol playing very well. Everyone clamouring to drop Scanz when he set up another goal last night, gets far too much unneccessary stick. Carayol tormented their right-back and they doubled and even tripled up on him at times. Clearly a out and out winger and needs to do much more covering back to help out davidson, was caught out on one on ones too much for my liking, also tried a stupid back-heel on the edge of the area, gave it away and they almost scored. Not surprised he got subbed straight after it. Miller my MOTM, finally looks like he got the form back of last season, ran himself into the ground and had a couple chances saved. Gave their CBs trouble all night despite being ridiculously fouled. Referee completely useless and did his best to get Charlton a point. Whitehead played very well and took responsiblity of captain on his shoulders. Huws scored a cracker and looks a find, needs more game-time. Billing has bags of potential but needs to learn when to press and when to pass, should have won more headers than he did at 6ft 5 but played some really nice passes and will grow. Looks like he can handle himself at this level. Almost caught out their keeper with a cheeky free-kick. All in all thoroughly deserved the win. Hopefully this shows Powell what team is capable of if they're given licence to play positively and gives fans something to shout about. Bolton at home must win as well for me. Need to gain some momentum against a nothing team at home that will no doubt be near us come end of season.

Also got chatting to a charlton fan on the bus back to North Greenwich who was a top lad and very gracious in defeat. Proper set of football fans. Never had any trouble there. I've probably had more trouble with the london big day outer town fans than actual opposition fans these days
