We've signed James Berry from Macclesfield. I mentioned him before on here. He's a very very good player and could play at an even higher level than the National League.

There are a few folk around Macc way who aren`t at all happy that he`s leaving, by all accounts. It`s a big step up for him, but hopefully he turns out to be a good investment for us. Certainly, he`s the right age and the sort of player we should be looking at.
We`re so heavy with forwards now, surely a few have to be moving out - either on loan or permanently. The strain on the budget must be horrendous.

It turns out I was right; Uchegbulam has gone to Rochdale, I understand. Didn`t see that one, I must admit. I wonder which one was the chicken and which one the egg.

I don't like the idea of Uchegbulam going, especially to a rival club. Rochdale looked two or three players short of a decent team against Ebbsfleet to me. We didn't need to provide one!
Berry's profile is good, but I am becoming increasingly wary of the word Wigan.
But we did need a second goal scorer. That should make Colclough's goals a bonus and give defences even more to think about, which is always a good thing.
What about Kabongo possibly going to Hollywood? If they end up with him and Mullin in their attacking options EFL2 could be struggling. WE, that's we! Added a sell-on clause!!!!!?????
Well at least James Berry's gran' should have some nice cakes on sale with the half-time cuppas.

Mary's already said he must be baking mad to sign for us.
Am also surprised at Jez's departure. Hope it doesn't come back to bite us in the ba... Er cake.

That may be Mary`s opinion, Dancing, but Chuck begs to differ. He`s definitely of the opinion that Jimmy B Goode.

I saw Chuck Berry play live in Manchester. He wasn't that good, rather desultory, but still there were huge calls for an encore at the end. The calls died down. No-one re-appeared. The calls re-doubled. Kid Jensen bounced on stage and announced, "No encore folks, Chuck's split!" Kid sprinted from the stage as every rocker down the front hurled a beer bottle or some other form of detritus at him. Excellent spontaneity and the highlight of the evening.

I both can and have scraped the bottom of barrels far, far deeper than that one, Dancing. Trust me.
I suppose performers are no different to footballers or anybody else. They have off-days, especially if they`re coming to the end of a long tour and they`re feeling pretty knackered. A footballer can be subbed in those circumstances, though; a performer can`t, especially if he or she is the headline act. I once heard somebody make a similar comment after he`d been to see Tina Turner live and she was one of the greats when it came to stage presence.
Not surprised at the bottles. It was Manchester after all and United were probably playing away that day, so the lads had to find some way of getting rid of their empties.

Can honestly say I don't think I've ever seen any live act have an off day like footballers sometimes do. I must admit though I've seen some really crap live bands and artists.
What's the difference? Well some bands and singers are so good they can ride a few fluffs and errors. Others should never have been allowed anywhere near a stage or worse still a microphone.
In the days when a studio produced band had a couple of hits and someone suggested that they should do a tour to promote themselves, there was many a band who died on the sword because they couldn't sing or play. Even now there really are some talentless pricks around who make my hands reach for the TV remote to put them out of their misery.
Anyhow enough of that. Good result yesterday. I got the 4 right but didn't reckon on our defense feeling sorry for them. I'll take that every game tho if it gives us 3 points. Tuesday night should be interesting. Aldershot put 5 past them on the opening day so we're lining up for a 1-0 loss

Hope not but somehow it wouldn't be a surprise.
Corrected re the team.

The most accurate description I could give of Chuck that night would have me accused of racism - he was a pale imitation .......
He didn't fill the stage or light it up. He could have been a tribute, Buck Cherry. But as you wisely say performers do get off-nights. Mostly professionalism gets them through, but there are occasions when that must prove impossible. I've switched on late to an Argentina football match and it has taken me half-an-hour to establish that Messi was even on the field .
