Hibs and St Johnstone "on a high" after progressing to the league cup semis. Hibs unbeaten this season. However, this match v THEM is definitely one of my big targets of the season mainly because they are a huge bogey team at ER Stadium that I was unaware of last season until perusing past results down the years - totally unacceptable and, no disrespect to Saint Johnstone, a footie club of Hibs standing should be beating this particular footie club far more than this amazing record of failure covering over a decade of matches - an absolute disgrace TBF!! I'd expect Jack Ross to motivate the whole team to "kill off" one of the most embarrassing bogeys I've ever seen as well as highlighting they played a big part in Hibs not winning a cup last season. We "buried" the Dons' bogey not so long ago. I wanna see this one buried as well. LETS LAY DOWN A MARKER ON THEM FOR THIS SEASON!! LETS DO IT HIBS!!

I forgot to add that I'd certainly like to see Hibs LB position taken up by Lewis Stevenson again mainly because of my mistrust in Doig's defensive qualities. The threat coming from Rooney on the same flank must be countered by JR with the proper tactics. We've "read this book" often enough - TIME TO RE-WRITE IT WITH OUR OWN SCRIPT! I notice they've also lost McCann and Jason Kerr to August's transfer business although they've had to quickly balance up the loss with a couple of additions. Are they weaker than before? I'd like to think so! We'll find out soon enough and, as said previously, JR must ensure this Hibs team really "shows up" to take them on esp with Hibs looking to sustain their challenge at the top end of the Scot Prem.

Think you may be right and Stevenson will play in place of Doig. The latter has much to learn about how to defend and as you point out we have to watch Rooney.

As 0762 points out, our record against that mob is embarrassing.

Bogey gone although it was hard work once again. We look to rely too much on Martin Boyle penalties, but through positive application we came through well.

I think the sending off was relative to the "pain" inflicted on McCart by Beaton's dodgy pk decision against him. As said before - I'll take this good fortune in finally "removing that monkey off our backs" after years of waiting even if Hibs were playing badly during this match - the added bonus is that we did OK. Agreed re Nisbet's form and looks like he needs a rest. Also noticeable he has stopped scoring the requisite goals although still occasionally setting up some decent attacking moves. And JR doesn't have any great alternative replacement due to Doidgy's unforeseen injury cropping up.
