Who's to blame?

Problem this last 12 months is most sponsors pulled their necks in. The number of players being sponsored for kit is as low as I can ever remember, nay lower by a country mile. At 2 season tickets per pop not surprising but that's the obvious. There's numerous blank advertising hoardings round the touchline and elsewhere. Not surprising, how can a business owner justify advertising when they aren't paying staff wages, or worse letting them go? Beyond that, match sponsors, shirt sponsors (available to the cheapest offer at the end of the street currently on a one night stand by one night stand basis) are falling over themselves not to spend. Zoe (or whatever her name was) from Fartown hasn't even sponsored the shirts yet, such is her reduced post match revenue (allegedly).

Hopefully come August, our depleted numbers in the stands (for reasons other than not buying SC's - well, how much blood do you want out of a fan that's not here anymore?) may help encourage a bit more loosening of corporate pockets, but it will be two seasons at least I think before any club gets back to something close to whatever was called normal, not Prima Donna League reduced parachute payment normal.
A guide to cask ale.
