Happy birthday to Leeds United.
It's 100 years ago that Leeds proposed to move Huddersfield Town into Elland Road and rename it as Leeds United, taking our league place and the rest of our fixtures for that season.
They wanted to do to us what Milton Keynes would do to Wimbledon.
Luckily the people of Huddersfield rebelled and the evil plot failed. But October the 17th 1919 was the date and the anniversary that Radio Leeds keep banging on about.
They didn't get into the Football League until the following season by which time Huddersfield Town had been promoted to the First Division.
Anyway, happy birthday MK Dons, er sorry Leeds United. ☺️
