Vitesse Arnhem technical director Marc van Hintum has heaped praise on Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.

The 19-year-old spent last season on loan in Arnhem and guided the club to the Europa League with 13 goals and ten assists, earning him the club’s player of the year award.

Speaking to De Gelderlander, Vitesse director Marc van Hintum reflected on Mount’s time at the club and claimed that the Englishman is a bigger talent than any of Ajax’s midfielders.

He said, “We were able to enjoy a great talent.”

At Ajax there are no better players in the midfield, no, not Ziyech either, Mason has everything: the action, the dribbling ability, tactical ingenuity, technique, depth and dynamics.

“He can put pressure on and has scoring ability, he can even head, he has the right mentality and he is intelligent – all conditions for a top career.”

Mount has been linked with a loan move to Ajax this summer, but he is set to get a chance with Chelsea during pre-season.

Would be good to see some of these young players at Chelsea finally actually getting a chance at Stamford Bridge rather than elsewhere!! Maybe Abramovich slowing down the spending might actually see this happen.

Heard really good things about Ampadu also

It`s a worrying trend I see at too many clubs Liverpool and Man Utd included who both have excellent young players who deserve a chance rather than buying for buying sake
