CEO Michael Dunford is leaving for Plymouth Argyle.
Bob's Board is grunting "wa'n't much good anyway."
But the man is way past retiring age. Plymouth is a club about to re-develop its ground, the area around it and try to secure Championship football. Its owner, who saved the club, is James Brent a successful and quite popular local multi-millionaire with his finger in every south-west pasty.
Contrast that with our vastly unpopular and chaotic major share-holder and his glove-puppet.
Now ,given that Mr Brent is an articulate and ambitious man, who has gone out of his way to employ a man who was our CEO as we plunged out of League Football, where do you imagine Mr Brent might think our problems lie? Isn't he telling us we had a good man and we dropped him into a vat of manure?
If a man who is a known quantity in Plymouth like Mr Dunford is so highly regarded it really doesn't say much for us and the people around him in Chesterfield does it? Plymouth are on the up. We are on the down. Yet they identify our man as the one who can get them there!
How intractably crap must we be in the eyes of the football world?
