1) Full credit to Liverpool for that performance from the 20th minute to the 70th. Super brutal attacking play and they deserved to be 7-0 up. Their front 3 is truly superb when they’re on form.
2) Liverpool really seem to have a weakness where they do all the hard work and then tail off towards the end. They did it against us on Saturday. A Bayern München or Real Madrid would have really exploited that tonight.
3) Jurgen Klopp is a hypocrite. He has criticised us for using the long ball (hoof ball and playing in behind the defence) in recent seasons but tonight he had no qualms about using it himself and against Man City.
4) The tie isn’t over yet. Roma have 2 away goals, haven’t conceded a goal at home this season in the Champions League and the Stadio Olimpico in big European nights will make Anfield look like a Library.
5) I love you Eusebio Di Francesco but that was pitifully naïve tonight. Leaving 3v3 at the back was a shocking decision. I was calling for the change to 4231 at half time to shore up defensively and it still took him 20 minutes of the second half to decide to change from the 3412. If I, a fan, could see it why couldn’t he? He has to do much better in the future.
