A new set of rules are being looked at by the International Football Association Board, including allowing players to dribble from free-kicks and corners plus penalties being awarded if keepers handle a back pass. (Times - subscription required)

How about awarding a 3 - 0 win against any team whose players dive, cheat or feign injury which effects the game / score / final outcome. A retrospective ban only penalizes the injured team more when rivals get to play against teams weakened by suspension. You could lose your game and have teams around win theirs because of it.

The top six would look a lot different ........ with all their 3 - 0 defeats for cheating. Chelsea with Costa would end up on zero points. He cheats every game.
