I'd agree the sin bin idea Pooch.

When I used to play in goal in amateur football I used to tell my defenders not to bring anyone down if they were running through one on one with me. I always thought there was a good chance I'd save or the forward would simply miss, but a penalty must always be about 80% in the forward's favour. No doubt you and Matt can come up with stats.

Now with the additional chance of being sent off for the foul a defender might almost be advised to stand off the forward in the area and let him have a shot. Which is worst, going 1-0 down or playing maybe 75 minutes with ten men? Answers on one side of the paper only.

If you watch the highlights of Newcastle vs Sunderland the red card and penalty was exact to our game against Scunny. What I find odd is the law states if a player is brought down by the last man when he's through on goal in a goal scoring opportunity then its a straight red card fair enough but if a player is in the box and has no sight on goal and is brought down how is that a red card it should be a yellow at least and a penalty. It's a very grey area and needs to be looked at. Another thing which needs to be looked at is opposition players chasing the referee to get a player sent off they brought in a rule where the captain is the only one allowed to speak to the referee but that looks like its gone by the by. I believe the rule they have in rugby should apply in football where the referee gets the two captains together and speaks to them when there has been a stop in play or a challenge. I also agree with you Pooch, scrap the yellow card and have a sin bin and sit out for 5 minutes and if you get 4 sin bins over several games then you are banned for 1 game. If you get two sin bins in 1 game it should be a straight red.

Yes Matt ....... The rules do need revision.

If a forward can get himself brought down in the area he gets a huge reward. A penalty - almost certain goal. Opposition reduced to ten men - huge advantage for the rest of the game, massively increasing his side's chances of winning. If you wanted to frame a rule to encourage diving in the box you couldn't make a better job. It's a cheat's charter, that ensures referees are regularly pilloried, become the centre of attention, and often decide games. And if it is allowed to continue it will totally change the game. The tackle will simply consign itself to the past. Why should any player learn to use it when the risks are so enormous. And once players stop tackling, why would anyone dribble? Youngsters will learn a passing game that may become dizzyingly complex, but it won't really be football.

So the most losses in a row in the league was 9 from 22.10.1960 - 27.12.1960. So we only need another four to equal the record and another five to break the record. The same season we finished bottom of the old third division and got relegated into the old fourth division.

So all we need to do is avoid appointing a manager.

It wont happen .The rot will stop if we can set a manager on this week. When a new man comes in there is invariably an initial upturn in form. Now I'm not saying we will beat Bradford but the win will come sooner than later .

Surely we are going to appoint someone on Wednesday - the day after the Cup defeat at Walsall?

Comparing the two times we were relegated before at least we're not in the 2012 situation.
