Millwall vs WBA - Match Thread

The ups and downs continue for Albion, with our win-one-lose-one record under Mowbray delivering a last-gasp win against Sheffield Wednesday followed by a very disappointing capitulation to Blackburn. 1.5 points a game remains a better return than we enjoyed before Christmas, but to maintain it this weekend will require something very special from an otherwise tough trip down to Bermondsey on Saturday afternoon.

Millwall, despite becoming the latest members of the ever-growing Can You Believe We Lost To Plymouth Argyle fraternity in spectacular fashion in midweek, remain unbeaten in seven against Albion with draws in the last four encounters, while our 2-0 win this time five years ago is our only ever victory at the New Den. It'll be a tough battle again this time too, with Kyle Bartley's absence continuing to hurt us and Semi Ajayi still a doubt; Millwall's general home record is good, while ours recently hasn't been anything to shout about.

So, two teams in desperate need of a bounce-back victory, and the advantage probably lies with the hosts. I still wouldn't write Albion off completely in this one, but a draw would be sufficient in the circumstances.

It's a good point (excuse the pun) about the 'win-one-lose-one' points ratio, and frustrating as it is, I'd much rather be like we are now, than under CC, grinding out 0-0 draws with 70% possession all in our half Confused Wink

IMHO we didn't deserve a point.
Far too many mistakes.
Armstrong on the wing - crazy
Grady - great for 2 mins but rubbish for the rest of the game - lost count of how many times he gave the ball away.
Wallace lost his talent 12 months ago
Fellows and Johnson on the bench
Swift coming on for an amble about.
If Mowbary continues on a path of utter stupidity I for one will be asking for his head. I don't give time for idiotic incompetent decisions.
Time waits for nobody.
It's beginning to look as though the players have no respect for TM or what he's doing and it's no wonder with his thinking.

With Armstrong and Dike playing, I'm not so sure we can play with both Fellows and MJ. Do we need 2 wingers on the pitch at the same time. Swift and Wallace are both done and Grady can do fantastic stuff for 5 minutes then spend the rest of the game giving the ball away. Mowatt and Molumby back in the middle please. Styles has had a mare so Haggem or Frabotta to FB. Ajay is not at the races so Holgate needs reinstating.
Out POS - Grant needs to come back into the side. You can't dump people and expect them to remain focused and motivated.
Mowbary get it right against Oxford or resign.
Wildsmith
Furlong - Holgate - Haggem - Frabotta
Fellows - Mowatt - Molumby - Grant
Armstrong - Lankshear
Griffths - Ajay - Jonston - Price - Dike - Bany - Styles - Grady - Diakite
Wallace and Swift binned.

A word of caution, Mowbray looks to have aged 5 years in 5 weeks. Not so sure a stressful job is good for him. I hope his friends and family are keeping an eye on him.

No - that's TM on the left (Ska'd's picture). He's swearing at some Villa fan.

This is a very good point in fact. After all that he has gone through he will have reflected on everything.
If things do not go according to plan and it becomes stressful, he might have a much lower point at which is says, sod it, and walks away.
The squad needs to get onboard with his methods fast and deliver.
I think we have until end of next season to be doing it successfully or he will retire to enjoy life - and who would blame him.
