Very sad to hear this morning about the three Hammers fans who were killed en route to the Match yesterday morning when their car was hit by a bus on the M1 due to fog ....

That's awful. I guess many people didn't realise who the victims were and where they were going. Once again it puts the game into perspective.

As you rightly say Brazil a tragedy like this puts everything into perspective.

I particularly note the comment by one Hammer's fan who muses about the previous game against Bristol City. He/she reminds us that if West Ham hadn't won that game very late on, and had instead been eliminated, these poor supporters wouldn't have been on the Motorway yesterday.

By such tiny incidents all our lives can change forever.

My sincere condolences to the family of the people concerned and to all Hammers fans generally.Peace dove

Blimey, that's really terrible.
I'm sure that all true football fans would be saddened by this news and would all want their sympathies sent to the poor families in particular, and also the club.

Great thread,
Football is everything to me but the thought that any footie fan who sets out excited to a game and doesn't come home is terrible.
RIP.

The Mirror are reporting that they were NOT West Ham fans who were attending the game but had been on a night out in London.
Not that it makes it any better.

Doesn't matter who they were, where they were going or where they had been. Someone's son, dad or husband didn't come home and that's simply not fair.

West Ham fan here.

Thanks to this site for posting on KUMB with condolences for the 3 fans who died on their way to the game.

The game doesn't really mean a lot in that perspective, but I thought you played with verve and I hope you go on to win it.

Rest in Peace.
