Any questions and I'll do my best to find the cheapest way to get to the match on public transport (mainly by train)

We'll start off with a few handy websites

East Coast trains
http://www.eastcoast.co.uk

Virgin Trains
http://www.virgintrains.co.uk

Cross Country
http://www.crosscountrytrains.co.uk

South Wales Trains
http://www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk/Home.aspx

First Great Western
http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk

Greater Anglia Trains
http://www.abelliogreateranglia.co.uk

That lot should cover most journeys from Huddersfield to the 23 other grounds

How to save money on the train fare
First up if possible try and book when the tickets are released, this is usually 12weeks in advance
Secondly, if you qualify then get yourself a railcard as this can save you a small fortune and even cheaper tickets in advance
http://www.railcard.co.uk

Lastly, don't assume that the return fare is the cheapest. Most of the time it's cheaper to split the ticket.
For instance
Huddersfield to Watford is currently £89 return
Where as HD to London Euston via Manc Picc is as little as £20.50ea way
And London Euston to Watford Junction is £10.20
Saving you £37.80
Right first two league games up and running.

Cardiff City Sat 16th August

Huddersfield to Cardiff Central £89.50rtn or £59.05 with a RailCard

Split your tickets
Huddersfield to Manc Picc £13.60rtn or £9 with RC
Manc Picc to Cardiff is better as singles.
Going out for as little as £32 or £21.10 with RC
Coming back £17 or £11.20 with RC

Watford Sat 30th August

Huddersfield to Watford £89rtn or £58.75 with RC

Split your tickets
Hudd- London Euston(via Manc) as little as £20.50 or £13.55with RC
London Euston - Hudd (via Manc) as little as £20.50 or £13.55 with RC
London Euston to Watford Junction £10.20 rtn or £6.75 with RC

So I'd use the East Coast and the tube upto Watford, as we did for the last game of the season. As I said, I maybe wrong, but deffo worth checking.

What about Grand Central Wakey? They do cheap advances from Bradford,Halifax, Brighouse, Mirfield and Kirkgate. I've used them from Brighouse on a couple of accasions and they have always been on time and never been cancelled, although the downside is they do take longer to reach London. There are 4 trains each way to London daily and one early morning service on Saturday, as well as a mid morning one.

Also another good tip, is, if there is more than one of you who travels regularly to away games by rail buy yourself a 'two together' railcard for big savings.

Disocunts apply to advances too!!

That TwoTogether railcard should be a must for Town fans travelling up and down the country.

Also worth checking when booking as a group if the train companies offer savings
3 for 2
4 for 2

Still in test mode but worth bookmarking. Found it would suggest returns when singles were sometimes cheaper last season but a good place to start.

Let us know the best way to book mate, ideally from Sheffield if poss?

If you were to go down the East Coast route it is possible to get down from Donny but would involve a very early start and a 18:35 train back for £10 ea way plus a day rtn Sheff- Donny £6.20
Other better times are available but are already selling at £18.15 ea way so you will probably be better waiting for the EMT trains to be released

Little side note to the above the Wakey Depressed are having a promotion on Northern Rail tickets starting this Friday, anywhere for £10 so that might come in handy for certain Town games

Ridiculous, again the passengers are getting it in the neck. Paying for the governments inability to fund and provide new trains with extra capacity. It appears to be a rather blunt tool to remove leisure travellers off peak trains so commuters can get a seat. This is even affecting the West Yorkshire Day Rover.

These are the following papers that are running the vouchers.....these tickets are good just for a day out never mind Town games. Got the week commencing 22 September off, this will save me a few bob on a few trips out with the missus.
