Chesterfield vs WBA - FA Cup Third Round Match Thread

Tough-ish task in the 4th Round for you, but surely you'll try to win? If Premier Leaguers keep knocking each other out and fielding weakened teams a decent Championship side could well be on the road to Wembley. A boing into promotion is an every three to five year thing for you, like the seven-year itch. It's nothing new. Surely the chance of a Wembley appearance or two has to have novelty value.

Thoroughly agree, Devon.
I can't believe anyone would rate our chances in the Prem with our financial situation. Although - like any of the Up/Down Clubs - we'd get the Parachute Payments. And our Owner would love to get his greasy hands on that!
I would rather turn the clock back some years (when The Cup really meant something). Even a Semi-final meant something then, and you'd save your A-Team for such events.
Good luck to you Spireites Thumb up - you gave us a good lesson last week!

Devon,
I am old school, I would love a cup run and to lift the cup for the first time in my living memory would be immense, better still, a cup win promotion double season, for only the second time ever, wow that would be an achievement, to match the only other great team to do it, wow wow, who was that great team?, Oh yeah, West Bromwich Albion, 1931.
I have seen us reach multiple semi-finals but never the final ... Come on Albion do it for me.

Talk saft, I was not quite two in May 68, I was not even aware of football coming from Somerset, my dad was more of a train nut rather than being sporty, he worked for BR, bloody rubbish, no that's not right, nationalised railways, British Rail, that's right although they were bloody rubbish as well, until my mother remarried in 1973 a man from Dudlay sorry dudley, henceforth my years of suffering was set in stone, I became a baggie. Albion are now firmly entrenched in my blood, which runs blue and white.
