Shrewsbury Town have signed midfielder Sam Clucas from Lincoln City as their second signing of the summer.

The 34-year-old has agreed a two-year deal and will complete the move when his Imp contract expires on 1 July.

The former Swansea, Hull and Stoke midfielder made 66 Premier League appearances during his time with the Swans and Tigers and has played more than 300 games across the English Football League.

Clucas said his move to Salop was "a perfect fit" and was "really excited" about his future at the club.

"I spoke to the head coach very early on in the window and he made it clear he wanted me," Clucas said, external.

"If someone wants you to come and play, that's the most important thing."

Director of football, Micky Moore, said Clucas' "wealth of experience and strong leadership qualities" will be "vital to strengthening the spine of our team".

Clucas follows Doncaster Rovers defender Tom Anderson in joining Shrewsbury, who finished five points adrift at the bottom of League One this season.

Shrewsbury Town have signed Bradford City defender Sam Stubbs on a two-year contract.

Stubbs, 26, spent last season on loan with League Two Cheltenham Town earning the club's player of the year and players' player of the year awards.

The former Middlesbrough youth player joined the Bantams from Exeter City in the January window in 2023 and made 55 appearances for the club.

"He's a defender who had a lot of interest this summer following what was an excellent season for him personally at Cheltenham," Shrewsbury director of football Micky Moore said.

I think we have signed a talented defender hitting his prime - he is a leader, he's strong in the air and is physically strong. He is an all-round good defender."

Stubbs is Town's third summer signing as they prepare for life back in League Two after relegation and will complete his free-transfer move on 1 July.

Defender Tom Anderson from Doncaster and midfielder Sam Clucas from Lincoln City have also been recruited.

Shrewsbury Town have made their fourth signing of the summer transfer window after completing a deal for Wrexham centre-back Will Boyle.

Town were among a number of clubs keen to sign the 29-year-old, who was part of the Dragons' back-to-back promotions from League Two to the Championship over the last two seasons.

Boyle previously spent five-and-a-half years with Cheltenham Town, where he worked under current Salop director of football Micky Moore.

"Will is someone I have known for a long time and we have had a lot of success together," Moore said, external.

"He brings standout attributes that will strengthen the group for the challenges ahead.

"He's a natural leader, has been part of promotion-winning teams, and his experience will be crucial both on and off the pitch."

Boyle has signed a two-year contract and joins fellow new recruits defenders Sam Stubbs and Tom Anderson and midfielder Sam Clucas ahead of the club's return to League Two following relegation last season.

Shrewsbury Town have signed versatile 25-year-old Tom Sang from Port Vale.

Sang has signed a two-year deal with the Croud Meadow club, who were relegated to League Two last season after finishing bottom of League One.

He made 32 appearances for Port Vale as they finished second in League Two to secure promotion last season.

The Shrews' director of football Micky Moore said: "Tom is a really good footballer. He started at Manchester United as an attacking midfielder and, like Tom Anderson, Sam Clucas, Sam Stubbs and Will Boyle, he arrives having a promotion on his CV."

He added: "He can play and in multiple positions and is also a great person.

"His arrival means we now have 18 players in the squad, which I think gives Michael Appleton a great opportunity to get his principles and ideas into the group early."

Sang is Shrewsbury's fifth signing of the summer after defenders Stubbs and Boyle arrived last week, with centre-back Anderson and midfielder Clucas secured earlier in the window.
