With actual fans in grounds being restricted to 1000 (where allowed), Sky sponsorship money due to be dropped by 50%. How long can clubs continue to survive. Obviously football is our main interest, but other sports - Rugby, Athletics, Motor car/bike racing, Horse Racing, Pop/rock gigs, Band tours, Cinema's and Theatres, Basically anything which brings crowds of people together.
The whole entertainment business will soon be gone, arena's closed event staff lost. Even Southampton's boat show was cancelled last week.
I don't know what the answers are, but unless some normality resumes Suicides may begin to outnumber Covid 19 deaths.
With infection rates now rising again. Do we stick 2 fingers up to covid19 and soldier on? or do we hide away until our society breaks completely?

You’re right, Bluebaggie, and with the news today that nearly 700,000 jobs have gone from company payrolls since March, I’m guessing it’s going to get worse. It’s a really tough time for people at the moment. I’m lucky enough to have retired but I really feel for the young trying to get jobs and others who are in jobs but fearful for their future.

Very hard times for so many; the phrase 'a new "normal"' has been used I know, but I think it will apply to many, many aspects of life from here on in.

I guess the great hope is a successful vaccine to come riding over the hill to rescue us all. I think if/when that happens it'll make a huge difference, but it'll still be some time before a lot of things that we've always taken for granted return.

Difficult balancing act really. The question will yield different responses from different people based on their personal circumstances.

Society would implode if current restrictions were kept in place indefinitely. When this happens, we would have no choice to stick two fingers up to the virus.

But I think the fact we have got past summer buys some more time. The next landmark now is Christmas which could cause some kick offs if restrictions are heavy. Then we have summer 2021, with major sporting events and summer holiday season. A lot of people missed out on summer holidays this year, I don't think they would be willing to do that again.

It seems the government and health advisers are hoping that we make advances in treatment and prevention before we get to that point of critical mass. I'd say next summer would be the absolute deadline for that.

Any pharma company who is able to eradicate this disease will make a lot of money so they will be working around the clock. With that in mind, I'm hopeful of some good news in the coming months. We are approaching that time of year when data is likely to be available from the various phase 3 vaccine trials in progress. So let's all keep our fingers crossed.

I'd sue China for the lot, the world needs to make them accountable, where there is blame, there's a claim!

WW3 would cost more money and more lives then CV19

Macclesfield have folded today.
Just as the Seals throw £17m at a reserve keeper.
Sadly its just part of the beginning of the demise of our football heritage

Now the scheduled return of fans on October the 1st has been cancelled
Clubs outside the premier will now need funding urgently or many clubs will have enter administration.
The league format as we have known it for many many years will cease to exist.
I would like to think we could help Walsall, always had a soft spot for them.

Having lived in Walsall and taken plenty of stick for my allegiance to the Baggies, I've also got a soft spot for Walsall fans....Rannoch Moor, just south of Glencoe.
